CNN’s Chris Cuomo revealed last week that he was diagnosed with COVID-19, which has only heightened the moral authority he typically assumes in critiquing events.
Hosting his show from home, Cuomo accused President Donald Trump of feeding the American people “bullsh*t” because the president peddles in little more than hope. To ensure his assessment is accurate, Cuomo engaged in a little deceptive editing.
“It has to be time for truth, we don’t have time for any more BS,” Cuomo said. “Too many are sick, and the remedy is straight information, realistic plans that you trust, and us using that to tap into our national superpower.”
“No one comes together in crisis like America,” he continued. “But we only come together when we’re on the same page. So together, as ever, as one, let’s get after it!”
The remark is rather disingenuous, given that CNN is all but committed to destroying Trump and they would never bring themselves to be on the same page with him.
Cuomo noted that the U.S. recorded 1736 new coronavirus deaths, which is the most in a single day — the media continues to push the number of deaths, while ignoring a far greater number of people who recover from the virus — to ask if it’s fair to say, this may be the most we see in a given day.
“The last thing anybody needs is more BS,” he said. “I know, I hear you. You’re reaching out to me from all over the country, you have just one request: that all the games end. You’ve always seen through them. And you tell me the only thing more sickening to you in this collective than the virus, is being lied to about what’s going on.”
The trouble is, Cuomo only hears from one side of the political spectrum, those who hate the president. In the end, his haughty analogy plays up to that end, culminating with: Orange man bad.
The CNN anchor insisted that COVID-19 is more threatening than the 2009 swine flu pandemic, which lets him focus on condemning Trump while ignoring inconvenient actions, or lack thereof, from the Obama administration.
“Stop ignoring the facts for political advantage. Get real. The past is over. There can be no more letting politics reinforce our worst instincts,” Cuomo said. “We need to build on our best instincts. And that said, while I’m asking you all to do that, the man at the top refuses to change.”
He then runs a clip of the president trying to be encouraging, giving the nation hope, rather than constantly dwelling on the negative aspects of the crisis.
“That’s exactly what leadership is,” Cuomo countered, his lack of leadership qualities notwithstanding.
But the clip was edited to cut out Trump talking about actions he has taken to counter the coronavirus outbreak.
As seen in the clip below, here are Trump’s remarks that Cuomo didn’t want viewers to hear: “When I was saying that I’m also closing it down, I obviously was concerned about it because I closed down our country to China, which was heavily infected. I then closed it down to Europe. That’s a big move.”
CNN's Chris Cuomo deceptively edited this clip to make it look like Trump said that he didn't take action on the coronavirus because he didn't want to upset people

“Anybody can tell people what they want to hear and make it easy. And then you know what you get? Exactly where we are, right now,” Cuomo ranted on. “That was the most asinine statement of leadership I have ever heard.”
To be sure that his viewers don’t forget he’s sick, he slips in that he’s running a fever.
“And I can’t even dismiss it on the president having a 102 fever like I do, because that is clear thinking from him,” Cuomo added. “I’m a cheerleader so I’m gonna lie to you about the realities that your parents, your loved ones, and your kids face.”
In reality, there is no lie in telling the nation that we will get through this crisis and that better days lie ahead — but when the focus is on the November election, as it is with the left, there’s no room for such a sunny disposition.
“I’m not gonna prepare the way I should because it reinforces the bulls**t I’m telling you, and I’m gonna hope that you’re OK with it!” Cuomo said, mockingly imitating the president.
“We’ve got to do better than that!” he said. “This president must do better than that!”
