Urns in Wuhan raise doubt about deaths in China; locals claim it was close to 42k people, not 3,299

While some members of the Trump-hating media are eager to hoist up propaganda from Communist China in their never-ending quest to destroy President Trump, this endeavor has run into an obstacle of sorts — an urn.

Well, to be more accurate, thousands of urns.

The Chinese virus COVID-19, aka coronavirus, originated in Wuhan, China, and the Chinese have confirmed just over 82,000 cases of the disease, according to numbers reported by Johns Hopkins, along with 3,299 deaths.

With the number of cases in the U.S. surpassing this number, liberal journalists were quick to seize on this monumental occurrence to throw shade on Trump.

Exhibit A:

Of course, it required taking China at its word on the reported numbers to make such an assertion.

This is something Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla, took exception to, but more on that later.

Fox News cited the the Chinese media outlet Caixin who reported that in spite of 3,299 overall deaths reported by Beijing, a single funeral home in Wuhan recently received 5,000 urns in a two day period.

Wuhan reportedly has seven other mortuaries.

The Daily Mail reported that Wuhan locals claim that COVID-19 “has killed 42,000 people in the city alone, more than ten times the national figure claimed by Chinese authorities.”

This coming as China was reportedly beginning to lift a two-month lock down of the city, according to the New York Post, which reported that Chinese officials predicted a forthcoming “victory” against the virus earlier in the month.

With many questions about just how transparent Beijing has been, Rubio was cast as a villain by the liberal media when he criticized their “grotesque” reporting, calling them out for their “glee & delight” in noting that the U.S. had surpassed China’s numbers — see tweet above.

The Florida Republican insisted we have “NO IDEA” how many actual cases China has had, as Rubio was hit with a wave of feigned outrage from journalists suddenly awash with newfound integrity.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., went even further in his critique.

“The Chinese Communist Party is still lying,” he said Sunday, during an appearance on Fox News.

“You see it again today,” Cotton said. “So, for instance, China says they have no more new cases, no more new deaths, yet they just closed all movie theaters nationwide only a few days after having opened them up.”

The senator cited the report on the number of urns to help bolster his case.

“They say they’ve only had 2,500 cases that resulted in deaths or so, yet a single mortuary has ordered more than 5,000 urns,” he said. “You can look at these basic facts to know that the Chinese Communist Party is still lying today, as they were in December and January, and that’s why what could have been a local problem in Wuhan turned into a global pandemic from which more than 2,000 Americans have now died.”
