Last weekend, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio began lobbing attacks at President Donald Trump over his allegedly poor coronavirus response.
“The president of the United States is from New York City, and he will not lift a finger to help his hometown, and I don’t get it,” he falsely claimed on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
He also issued demands for the “military to be mobilized” (that’s already happening) and for the president to utilize the Defense Production Act “to the fullest” to force manufacturers to begin producing ventilators (they’re already producing them).
While those in the demonstrably left-wing media used de Blasio’s remarks to boost their own attacks on the president, those in the conservative hemisphere of America pushed back by noting that the mayor may want to consider looking in a mirror.
For a reason why, consider the story below from the New York Post.
@NYCMayor you blame @realDonaldTrump for your cities problem, because that’s the norm for you all. Yet it is YOUR INCOMPETENCE that has led to it. You are hated in NYC, even the the Police. Look in the mirror for once, instead of pointing your finger. #bebetter pic.twitter.com/UceMYStaNN

“Mayor Bill de Blasio has blamed President Trump for the city’s severe shortage of COVID-19 supplies even though City Hall didn’t secure its first order for emergency protective gear until March 6,” the outlet reported late last week.
“Our city is the epicenter of this outbreak in the United States, and we are lacking supplies because the mayor didn’t notice until two weeks ago?” Councilman Chaim Deutsch, a fellow Democrat like de Blasio, said to the paper.
“We ought to have been prepared for this. Blaming Trump is an easy way to avoid hard questions, but it exposes a distinct lack of management on the part of this administration.”
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Speaking on Fox News’ “The Story with Martha MacCallum” late Wednesday, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway broke down the full scope of the mayor’s hypocrisy and incompetence.
“On March 2nd, he said, ‘I’m encouraging New Yorkers to go on with their lives and get out on the town despite the coronavirus.’ And then he told everybody what show to go see. That was on March 2nd. On March 16, he went to a gym. On March 5th, he’s taking the subway.”
Listen:
Just days ago, Mayor Bill de Blasio was ignoring health warnings so he could go to the gym.
His feckless leadership has directly contributed to the crisis in New York City, and he has no business attacking @realDonaldTrump.

She was 100 percent accurate.
Here’s the proof:
Since I’m encouraging New Yorkers to go on with your lives + get out on the town despite Coronavirus, I thought I would offer some suggestions. Here’s the first: thru Thurs 3/5 go see “The Traitor” @FilmLinc. If “The Wire” was a true story + set in Italy, it would be this film.

But it gets worse.
According to reports, the trash-talking mayor initially refused requests to take the global coronavirus pandemic more seriously. It took his own top officials and city workers threatening to quit to finally wake him up.
“There had been arguments and shouting matches between the mayor and some of his advisers; some top health officials had even threatened to resign if he refused to accept the need to close schools and businesses, according to several people familiar with the internal discussions,” The New York Times confirmed last week.
“Teachers were threatening not to show up to school on Monday. A growing number of public health experts and politicians were calling for much of the city to be shut down to curb the spread of the virus.”
He only first took action on March 15, two days after the fast-moving president had declared a national emergency and even more since the president had set up a coronavirus task force and halted travel to/from China and even Europe as well.
Yet the left-wing media keep echoing de Blasio’s anti-Trump rhetoric while making zero efforts to hold the mayor accountable for his own grave errors.

And as of Thursday morning, not a single “reporter” or “journalist” in the entire left-wing mainstream media had yet reported on a scoop from The Wall Street Journal concerning New York State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker.
According to WSJ reporter Jimmy Vielkind, Zucker has told Americans to ignore the federal recommendation that anyone who’s recently left the NYC metropolitan area should self-quarantine for 14 days.

Because stories like this don’t fit the media’s preferred #OrangeManBad narrative, don’t expect to hear much about them …
