President Trump was “so happy” that Sen. Mitt Romney tested negative for coronavirus, trolling the Utah lawmaker on Twitter before slamming his record.
The president tweeted about the “RINO” (Republican In Name Only) after he announced Tuesday that he had tested negative for coronavirus, taking to Twitter to share his excitement over the “really great news.”
“I am so happy I can barely speak. He may have been a terrible presidential candidate and an even worse U.S. Senator, but he is a RINO, and I like him a lot!” Trump tweeted Wednesday about the only Republican senator who voted in favor of one of the impeachment articles against him.

Romney shared the news about his test results on Twitter Tuesday, saying he would remain in self-quarantine as he had been since learning that Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky had tested positive over the weekend.
“Thankfully I’ve tested negative for COVID-19,” he wrote on Twitter. “Nevertheless, guidance from my physician, consistent with the CDC guidelines, requires me to remain in quarantine as the test does not rule out the onset of symptoms during the 14-day period.”

Trump reacted to news of Romney’s decision to isolate himself during a press briefing at the White House on Sunday.
“Romney‘s in isolation?” the president asked a reporter. “Gee, that’s too bad.”
“Do I detect sarcasm there, sir?” ABC News correspondent Trevor Ault asked Trump.
“No, none whatsoever,” the president responded.
GOP Sen. Mike Lee of Utah also went into self-quarantine after interacting with Paul, while Republican Sens. Cory Gardner of Colorado and Rick Scott of Florida made the decision to isolate themselves after coming into contact with others who tested positive for COVID-19.
Trump also took a shot at Michael Avenatti, the former attorney for porn star Stormy Daniels.
The convicted lawyer asked to be let out of prison due to the coronavirus outbreak, but a federal judge in Santa Ana, California denied his plea, prompting the snarky tweet from Trump.
“Gee, that’s too bad. Such a fine guy. Presidential aspirations you know!” he tweeted.

“The Court is mindful of the Covid 19 pandemic,” U.S. District Judge James Selna wrote in response to Avenatti’s request. “The Court accepts Avenatti’s showing that the had pneumonia about six months ago. However, there is no showing that his cellmate was infected by the virus, and there have been no reported cases of Covid 19 at the New York MCC.2…There is no basis to release Avenatti on medical grounds.”
