House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will not hold a vote on the $2T stimulus bill crafted to ease the economic tensions the coronavirus pandemic has caused.
Early Wednesday morning, around 1:30 AM, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that an agreement had been reached on the much-debated bill.
“The men and women of the greatest country on Earth are going to defeat this coronavirus and reclaim our future,” he declared. “The Senate’s going to make sure they have the ammunition they need to do it.”
And while the Senate is moving forward with a vote on the bill, Pelosi and her cohorts in the house had already left the building for the day, putting a frustrating delay on the passage of the legislation. The House was only in session for a whopping three minutes before adjourning.
“House Democrats will now review the final provisions and legislative text of the agreement to determine a course of action,” Pelosi said, allegedly noting that there was “no way” to pass the bill on Wednesday.

The text of the legislation is expected to be released later Wednesday and the House is not expected to be back in session until Thursday morning, 11 AM.
On Sunday Pelosi signaled that she planned to vote on her own coronavirus bill, a 1,119-page behemoth that, according to critics, was chock full of provisions that had little to nothing to do with virus relief.
“Speaker Pelosi unveiled legislation aimed at exploiting the COVID-19 public health crisis by attempting to force the inclusion of a socialist wish list of policies that have nothing to do with the public health and economic emergency,” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise reportedly said in a statement on the addition.
Among the wishlist items were:
- $35 million for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
- Tougher airlines’ emissions standards
- Elimination of U.S. Postal Service debt
- Federal $15 minimum wage
- Rewrite of nation’s food stamp program
- Obamacare expansion
- Etc.
Naturally, Twitter users were quick to deride Pelosi and her ilk for daring to take a break while the working class is suffering the economic toll of a pandemic that won’t let up. Not to mention her sudden desire to read bills before they’re passed, despite her previous statements.

And Pelosi had the audacity to include $25,000,000 in additional “Salaries & Expenses” for the House in her bill
