As the coronavirus pandemic spreads, scientists warn that you can contract it by touching surfaces contaminated with COVID-19. Why? Because the virus is stable for several hours to days on surfaces.
This finding underscores the need for good hygiene — both inside and outside your home. You should regularly clean and disinfect frequently-touched surfaces using a cleaning spray or wipe because the coronavirus is extremely contagious.
Frequently-touched surfaces include “tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.”
The National Institutes of Health warned: “People may acquire the virus through the air and after touching contaminated objects.”
The findings were uncovered in a new study conducted by scientists at the NIH, the Centers for Disease Control, UCLA, and Princeton University:
“The NIH study attempted to mimic the virus being deposited from an infected person onto everyday surfaces in a household or hospital setting, such as through coughing or touching objects. The scientists then investigated how long the virus remained infectious on these surfaces.
The virus that causes coronavirus (COVID-19) is stable for several hours to days in aerosols and on surfaces. The results…suggest that people may acquire the virus through the air and after touching contaminated objects.
The scientists found that severe acute respiratory syndrome was detectable in aerosols for up to three hours, up to four hours on copper, up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to two to three days on plastic and stainless steel.”
The coronavirus outbreak has spotlighted numerous shocking revelations — the most alarming of which is that most people did not frequently wash their hands before the COVID-19 outbreak. That’s something that everyone should have been doing all along.
Another startling revelation is what total liars the media are and how wrong they’ve been from the beginning in their reporting of this deadly epidemic.
When President Trump imposed a travel ban on China in January amid concerns over the rapidly-spreading coronavirus in Wuhan, the left-wing media immediately downplayed the crisis in a naked attempt to undermine him.
Predictably, the Left accused the President of being a racist for instituting a travel ban that almost every other country has now adopted. Here’s a sampling:

“Who Says It’s Not Safe to Travel to China?” (New York Times, Feb. 5)
“Get a grippe, people. The flu is a much greater threat than coronavirus.” (Washington Post, Feb. 1).
“Coronavirus..is dominating headlines, while the flu has killed dozens of U.S. kids this season” (Daily Beast, Feb. 6)
Now that seriousness of COVID-19 is undeniable, the Left and its media minions are blaming President Trump for not taking more drastic measures.
Apparently, some are gleefully hoping that millions of Americans will die and the economy will crater if that will hurt Trump’s chances for reelection.
Keep in mind that the Left has been attacking President Trump as “authoritarian” since the day he took office. Now, they’re blaming him for not being authoritarian enough in his approach to combating the epidemic.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson said one good thing about this crisis is that “it clarifies things. You can see exactly what side people are on.”
