Joy Behar announces leave of absence from ‘The View’: ‘Well, hello silver lining’

The world was afforded a brief moment of “joy” away from the stressful coronavirus crisis Thursday when word broke that anti-Trump “The View” co-host Joy Behar, 77, would be taking time off from the show because of the coronavirus itself.

“Joy Behar is taking time off as a co-host of ‘The View’ as a safety precaution against coronavirus,” Variety magazine confirmed that afternoon. “Behar, 77, announced her decision Thursday during a pre-taped episode of ‘The View’ that will air Friday.”

As word of her impending departure spread, so did the “joy,” ironically enough.

Look:

The pre-taped clip eventually aired Friday. The clip showed her speaking about how she allegedly looks “fantastic” for her age but must take precautions nevertheless.

“At this point I’ve been thinking, you know, this week about staying home from the show. … I’ve been thinking like, maybe at my age, I know I look good, I look fantastic, I don’t look my age. I have that good Italian skin that I inherited from my mother, so you really can’t tell how old I am by looking at me but I am actually up there,” she said.

Who knew?

“And you know you can look up my age. I don’t really want to tell it. … Anyway, so I’m thinking maybe I should stay home and what they call socially distance myself,” she continued.

“So then this morning I get a text from my daughter, and she says to me, ‘So are you staying home?’ And I wrote, ‘Well, I don’t know, why?’ and she says, ‘It’d be good in reality, mom.’ So I decided that I think I’m gonna stay home for a while. I’m going to socially distance myself a little bit, so next week you won’t see me here.”

Oh, no!

Listen to her little speech below:

She added that despite her apparently being as “fantastically” good-looking as a model and as allegedly healthy as a loud horse, she remains at higher risk of contracting the coronavirus because of her age.

“I have to point out I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy,” she proclaimed. “I consulted my doctor yesterday, and he said, ‘Look, I can’t tell you what to do, but you’re not in a high-risk group.’ But I said, ‘Look at how hold I am.’ He said, ‘It doesn’t matter. It’s fine.'”

“So I’m doing this myself. Luckily, I don’t have to worry about childcare and things like that. And also, I have enough money to take off some time. Alright? Will you miss me?”

America’s answer to that question appears to be a resounding no.

Look:

The reason for all this disdain and animosity possibly stems from Behar’s constant anti-Trump rants and raves. It was only a half a year ago that she claimed “murderers and pimps” act better than smeared Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and “others who are in” President Donald Trump’s administration.

Like others among the left, she resents Kavanaugh for fighting back fiercely against the phony sexual assault allegations that congressional Democrats and their media allies used two years ago to try and derail his confirmation hearings after he was nominated by Trump.

Her disdain has also extended to the president’s family and of course the president himself.

It’s not surprising given that she’s a close ally of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi:

Like Pelosi and her caucus, Behar is a far-left Democrat whose current worldview appears to revolve around the mantra #OrangeManBad.

That being said, it appears there are some Americans who will miss her presence on “The View.” But sadly, some of these Americans also appear to be missing critical brain matter.
