According to a statement from White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham Monday evening, President Trump has not been tested for the coronavirus, in spite of having been in contact with several individuals who were exposed at CPAC and who have gone into self-quarantine.

“The President has not received COVID-19 testing because he has neither had prolonged close contact with any known confirmed COVID-19 patients, nor does he have any symptoms,” Grisham said. “President Trump remains in excellent health, and his physician will continue to closely monitor him.”
The question about whether the president has been tested was raised by reporters at a Monday afternoon press conference. At that COVID-19 presser, Vice President Mike Pence responded that he had not been tested. He also said that he did not know whether the president had been tested and promised reporters he would ask the White House to respond with an answer.
Trump has been in recent close contact with multiple people who have since gone into self-quarantine after their interactions with a person at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) who subsequently tested positive for coronavirus.
The infected person did not have contact with the president or vice president. Neither was the person in close proximity to them at the conference. However, American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp interacted with the person at some point during the multi-day event, and then Schlapp shook Trump’s hand at the conclusion of the conference.
After learning of the conference attendee’s coronavirus diagnosis, Schlapp and his family have gone into self-quarantine as a precaution, though they have not had any COVID-19 symptoms.
Rep. Doug Collins shook Trump’s hand on Friday when the two toured the CDC along with other officials. Collins has since put himself under quarantine after learning he was potentially exposed at CPAC.

Rep. Matt Gaetz on Monday learned that he was possibly exposed to the virus at CPAC as well and after flying back to Washington on Air Force One from the CDC tour, he placed himself into a self-quarantine status.
While the Congressman is not experiencing symptoms, he received testing today and expects results soon.
Under doctor’s usual precautionary recommendations, he’ll remain self-quarantined until the 14-day period expires this week.

Newly announced White House chief of staff Mark Meadows similarly has gone into self-quarantine after riding on the president’s plane from the CDC tour and learning of his exposure at CPAC. Meadows’ communications director confirmed that he would isolate himself as a precaution …

Others who attended CPAC are also self-quarantining, despite exhibiting no symptoms of infection to-date–doing the right thing to try to help contain the spread of the coronavirus. Among them, Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Paul Gosar have announced precautionary self-quarantines. Neither of them are known to have had any close contact with Trump since the conference.
