Teacher’s unhinged lesson comparing Trump to Nazism and Communism has parents fuming

A high school in Maryland faces backlash from parents, politicians, and experts over a slide shown in a history class that featured a photo of President Donald Trump over pictures of the Nazi swastika and Communist hammer and sickle.

“Over the picture of the president are the words ‘Wants to round up a group of people and build a giant wall,'” Boston station WBFF reported.

This part is accurate. As per the wants of the American people, the president does seek to round up and deport illegal aliens who’ve violated America’s immigration laws.

And as per his 2016 campaign promise, the president does also seek to enhance America’s southern U.S. border security through the erection of a fortified wall.

According to WBFF, the problem with the slide that was shown at Loch Raven High are the words and images that appear underneath: “The words ‘been there’ and ‘done that’ appear under the pictures of the swastika and hammer and sickle. A banner on the side reads ‘Oh that’s why it sounds so familiar!'”

Besides being factually incorrect on multiple levels, the slide is also grossly political.

“High schools are not supposed to take advocacy positions against presidents,” Dr. Richard Vatz, a professor at Towson University, said to WBFF.

“They’re supposed to explain how political advocacy works, if that’s what they’re doing. They’re certainly not to take a position that the president is comparable to these awful leaders of the past.”

Baltimore County Public Schools has tried to dismiss concerns about the slide by arguing that officials “expect and encourage analysis and discussion around historical and current events even if they are considered controversial.”

“This slide was used as part of a lesson in an AP History course,” a spokesperson said. “The topics being discussed included World Wars and the attempts by some leaders to limit, or prevent migration, into certain countries. In isolation and out of context with the lesson, the image could be misunderstood.”

“In our Advanced Placement (AP) classes, which are college level courses, we expect and encourage analysis and discussion around historical and current events even if they are considered controversial. This lesson was not intended to make a political statement. If a student has concerns when discussing a controversial issue, schools have the tools to address the concern and support the student.”

Well, the slide was reportedly allowed to be viewed “in isolation and out of context.”

“My understanding is that was just put up and it was left there for everyone to see the whole day,” one parent said. “The biggest problem is pushing an agenda on 16-year-olds.”

However, Vatz stressed that the slide would be appropriate if the proper context was provided.

If they’re not presenting that as clear, outrageous argument against the president of the United States, then they’re not doing their job. It’s really contemptible,” he said.

He cautioned though that perhaps the teacher did do that, saying, “But I want to say it’s conceivable the teachers are doing a better job than has been communicated to you.”

Yes, it’s conceivable, though unlikely, particularly given, one, how left-wing most teachers appear to be, and two, the abundance of incidents such as this transpiring.

Several politicians have also commented on what happened.

In a Facebook post published Friday, Maryland House of Delegates member Kathy Szeliga called the slide “propaganda.”

“This propaganda was used in an AP history class at Loch Raven High. Educational malfeasance of the highest degree,” she wrote. “What is going on in our the Balt Co Public Schools????”

Baltimore County councilman Wade Kach, who reportedly represents the part of town where Loch Raven High is located, concurred.

“To even imply that our president is in any way a Nazi or a communist is outrageous,” he said to WBFF. “Is this curriculum for AP? Is it a purchased curriculum? Is it one that our school system wrote? Where is it coming from? I just think that it’s irresponsible to post anything like this in a classroom.”

As noted earlier, the slide was also factually incorrect, as it’s neither the president nor the Republican Party at large that have embraced the violence, censorship, power hungriness and political repression that were inherent to Nazism and Communism.

It was staff members of front-runner Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders who were recently caught on video talking about throwing Republicans into gulags.

It’s been radicalized members of the Democrat Party’s base that have repeatedly harassed and attacked supporters of America’s duly elected president.

It was likewise most likely two Democrats who ran two underage boys off the road just this past week because of the pro-Trump flags attached to their bikes.

“Felony charges have been filed against a Hobart couple accused of running twin boys off the road because they had pro-Trump flags attached to their bicycles,” the Associated Press reported Friday.

“Y’all scared, just like your president … America is not great, (expletive),” one of the suspects was reportedly recorded saying on a Snapchat video during the incident.

And it was, ironically enough, a teacher just like the one at Loch Raven High who allegedly assaulted a Michigan student last month for wearing a pro-Trump pin …
