Horrifying video of virus-risk people dragged from homes, shoved into metal boxes for quarantine

Horrifying video footage that’s emerged from China shows people suspected of being afflicted with coronavirus being treated in unconscionable ways, with the ill being forcefully dragged from their homes and stuffed into metal boxes for transport.

Take the footage below, which appears to show ill residents of Wuhan being dragged from their homes, presumably to be taken to one of the Communist nation’s growing number of quarantine camps (disable your adblocker if the video doesn’t appear):

Also consider the video below, which appears to show what happens after ill Wuhan residents are dragged from their homes. It would seem they’re then forced to sit or stand in metal boxes as they’re transported to a quarantine camp:

The videos reportedly emerged on social media Thursday, the same day that The New York Times ran a report confirming that Chinese authorities were beginning to resort “to increasingly extreme measures in Wuhan” to halt the spread of coronavirus.

“The urgent, seemingly improvised steps come amid a worsening humanitarian crisis in Wuhan, one exacerbated by tactics that have left this city of 11 million with a death rate from the coronavirus of 4.1 percent as of Thursday — staggeringly higher than the rest of the country’s rate of 0.17 percent,” the outlet reported.

“With the sick being herded into makeshift quarantine camps, with minimal medical care, a growing sense of abandonment and fear has taken hold in Wuhan, fueling the sense that the city and surrounding province of Hubei are being sacrificed for the greater good of China.”

The new “steps” were reportedly announced by Chinese Vice Premier Sun Chunlan during a visit to Wuhan on Thursday. In a statement, she said the country faces “wartime conditions” and warned that so-called “deserters” would be punished.

“There must be no deserters, or they will be nailed to the pillar of historical shame forever,” she said.

It’s not clear what she meant by that …

The Times noted that the implementation of her desired “wartime” measures has taken “on aspects of a military campaign,” as Chunlan has ordered China’s medical workers to visit every home in Wuhan to inspect its inhabitants.

Ms. Sun said that anyone requiring treatment should be rounded up, if necessary, and forced into quarantine.”

Other video footage also allegedly out of Wuhan appears to show …

Wuhan appears, for all intents and purposes, to be an actual warzone, albeit one manufactured by the country’s own government and its authoritarian decrees, according to some critics.

“The Chinese Communist Party has once again proved that authoritarianism is dangerous — not just for human rights but also for public health,” Chen Guangcheng of the Witherspoon Institute opined in a column Thursday.

“Confronted with the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, the CCP has instinctively reverted to its familiar tool kit: It immediately staged a large-scale lockdown of people and information at the expense of the public good.”

As evidence, he pointed to the same sorts of videos seen above.

“I have long said the Chinese Communist Party is a threat to humanity,” he piece concluded. “Now, with the outbreak spreading from Wuhan to the far reaches of the globe, the regime has again proved itself a danger to civilization. It has succeeded in turning a public health crisis into a human rights catastrophe.”

“The first victims are always the Chinese people themselves, but the rest of the world will pay a price for the CCP’s habits as well. For those who are hoping to live in a civilized world, this epidemic has shown that while authoritarianism remains, humanity will not live in peace.”

Nor will the resident of Wuhan, it would seem …
