Sen. Lindsey Graham is looking forward to “turn the page on impeachment” this week but warned more efforts could be underfoot unless Americans vote for President Trump to be reelected.
The South Carolina Republican spoke with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo about the impending end to Trump’s impeachment trial as a final round of speeches on Monday will be followed by an expected acquittal of the president on Wednesday, following the State of the Union address Tuesday.

“We’ll turn the page on impeachment at 4 o’clock Wednesday. All Republicans will vote not guilty. I think we’ll pick up a handful of Democrats,” Graham said on “Sunday Morning Futures.”
“I’m glad this trial is coming to end. This is the closest I ever want to be to being in purgatory. It’s been painful. It’s going to end and we’ll turn the page and deal with the issues important for the American people,” he said, adding a warning. “The day of reckoning is coming for Congressional and Senate oversight of Joe Biden and the FISA warrant process.”
But the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman also noted that the impeachment efforts by Democrats will not end until Republicans regain majorities in the House of Representatives.
“They have wanted to impeach this president now for three years,” Bartiromo said, mentioning Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s infamous remarks about impeachment during her first week in Congress. “This is not going to end, is it?”
“It will only end when the American people reelect Donald Trump in November and fire Nancy Pelosi and Tlaib for being in charge of the House,” Graham replied.
“If you want to exonerate the president, American people, and you want to deter future impeachments like this, make sure President Trump gets reelected. And let’s fire Nancy Pelosi,” he added. “What happened to the Nancy Pelosi that was thoughtful, prayerful, said impeachment could only be done bipartisan?”
The House Speaker smugly fist-bumped Bill Maher earlier this month after claiming impeachment was a “solemn,” “serious” and “sad” event.
“You are impeached forever,” she announced on his show. “No matter what the Senate does, it can never be erased.”
“Tlaib and these people took over the Democratic Party. And Chuck Schumer is having AOC breathing down his neck in terms of a Democratic primary,” Graham continued, referring to freshman Democrat Rep. ALexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. “Chuck Schumer is scared to death to lose his job to AOC. That is why this debacle continued in the Senate.”
Pelosi vowed Trump would “not be acquitted” during a press conference last week, adding in confusing remarks that “you cannot be acquitted if you don’t have a trial. You don’t have a trial if you don’t have witnesses and documentation and all of that.”
“What’s the Dems next move? And how are you going to get anything done, Senator, if you actually got the other side constantly pushing to find out dirt on Donald Trump?” Bartiromo asked Graham.
“Well, the president has been successful in spite of all of this. I hope we could turn the page as a nation and focus on issues important,” the GOP lawmaker said, calling the Democrats’ behavior “ridiculous.”
“They won’t let it go. They hate this man. Pelosi is no longer Speaker of the House, just in name only. I don’t know if they will ever let it go,” he said, warning that if Pelosi and Schumer continue efforts to try to subpoena former national security adviser John Bolton, then he will “bring in State Department officials and ask them, ‘Why didn’t you do something about the obvious conflict of interest Joe Biden had?’”
“I can only imagine if a Republican had done what Biden had done,” Graham added. “But we’ll get to the bottom of this.”
