Let the Biden probe begin! Joe could face impeachment the day after he’s elected, says senator

With the Democrats’ impeachment efforts against President Trump nearing an end, Vice President Joe Biden and his ties to a Ukrainian natural gas company may continue to haunt him.

Fox News host Steve Hilton urged Senate Republicans to launch an investigation into the former Obama-era vice president while GOP Senator Joni Ernst believes the 2020 Democratic contender could ultimately be impeached if he is ever elected president.

Hilton called for an investigation into the “King of the swamp” during his Fox News show “The Next Revolution” on Sunday, arguing that he has been getting a pass while Trump has endured relentless attacks from Democrats since he was elected in 2016.

“Now, finally, this impeachment farce looks like it’s coming to an end, but it would be a massive injustice if we let things lie as they are,” Hilton said.

“Why does President Trump have his administration blocked, probed and hounded for three years but nothing on the other side. That is not fair –that is not justice –that is not the rule of the law, but the law of the swamp and the king of the swamp is Joe Biden,” Hilton said in his monologue.

“So, as impeachment comes to an end, let the investigation of Biden begin,” Hilton urged, adding that even former Secretary of State John Kerry should be investigated as a report emerged Sunday that he was overheard allegedly discussing a possible entry into the 2020 race.

“Are you listening Senate Republicans? You, and only you, can do this,” he said, adding that we now need to hear from Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

“How much U.S. taxpayer money went to Ukrainian gas company Burisma while your son Hunter was on the board and you sent billions of dollars to Ukraine’s energy industry. You said you didn’t know about your sons ties to Burisma but last year, he said he told you,” Hilton said, addressing Biden.

“So who’s lying, you or your son?” he said, calling on Hunter Biden to come forward and explain his expertise in “energy matters” and “business experience” when he was hired for Burisma in 2014. He also questioned Burisma officials and whether it was Biden’s “connections” that led to his hiring as he leveled rapid-fire questions to the Bidens while recounting the many allegations of corruption and improper behavior.

“If it’s wrong for Republicans to solicit foreign dirt on Democrats, why is it okay for Democrats to solicit foreign dirt on Republicans?” Hilton asked. “Why does every allegation against Donald Trump get endlessly investigated while Joe Biden’s corruption, John Kerry’s corruption…and all of that outrageous and obvious Democrat corruption in the Ukraine ‘cash-for-gas’ scandal is completely ignored?”

“You know why,” he told viewers. “Because the swamp looks after its own.

Meanwhile, Sen. Ernst warned that Biden should be “careful what he’s asking for” as the door of impeachment has been opened by Democrats.

“I think this door of impeachable whatever has been opened,” the Iowa Republican said in an interview with Bloomberg News.

“Joe Biden should be very careful what he’s asking for because, you know, we can have a situation where if it should ever be President Biden, that immediately, people, right the day after he would be elected would be saying, ‘Well, we’re going to impeach him,’” she said.

Ernst added that Biden could face impeachment “for being assigned to take on Ukrainian corruption yet turning a blind eye to Burisma because his son was on the board making over a million dollars a year.”

Biden referred to comments Ernst made last week to reporters as the impeachment trial was ongoing, saying she had “spilled the beans” about the motives behind Republicans bringing up the Burisma issue.

“Iowa caucuses, folks. Iowa caucuses are this next Monday evening, and I’m really interested to see how this discussion today informs and influences the Iowa caucus voters, those Democratic caucus-goers. Will the be supporting Vice President Biden at this point?” Ernst had said.

She fired back at Biden for mischaracterizing her remarks.

“I was just pointing out that Iowa has very smart voters, very educated caucus-goers,” she told CNN. “And if they are paying attention to all of the dynamics with the candidates, that might be something that they would take into consideration.”
