Fox News host Steve Hilton is “sick” of the Royal drama and thinks it’s time for Britain to “abolish the monarchy.”

Hilton vented about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their decision to “step back” as members of the royal family as he discussed the latest developments with a panel on his show “The Next Revolution” on Sunday.

“To be completely honest, I’m sick of Harry. I’m sick of Meghan. I’m sick of this story. I’m sick of the royals,” Hilton said.

“As far as I’m concerned, when the Queen, who we all love very much, is finished with her reign then Britain should go and stop being a banana republic as it is when we have the royal family and become a real republic,” he added.

“Abolish the monarchy,” Hilton suggested. “That is my populist take.”

The Fox News host noted that Prince Harry’s announcement reminded him of a quote that says Royals “who complain about the media are much like sailors who complain about the sea.”

What has come to be called the “Megxit” plan with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will culminate in the spring as the couple officially step back from their royal titles and duties. Queen Elizabeth II and Buckingham Palace released statements over the weekend about the decision made by the Sussexes.

“The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly,” Prince Harry, the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and the late Diana, Princess of Wales, said in a speech at a dinner for the Sentebale charity in London on Sunday.

“It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option. What I want to make clear is, we’re not walking away, and we certainly aren’t walking away from you,” he said of the couple’s dramatic decision to leave their titles and funding and move part-time to Canada.

The announcement has caused divided reactions as some applauded the young couple for the bold move to forge their own way while others, like British journalist Piers Morgan, condemned the ill-conceived plan, blaming Markle, an American actress, for pulling Prince Harry away from his destiny.

Markle’s own estranged father accused her of turning the Royal Family “into a Walmart with a crown on.”

On Sunday’s “The Next Revolution,” Hilton’s guests discussed the end of Harry’s royal role after he made his view on the drama quite clear.

“I think Prince Harry is a young man and he may end up regretting and have a number of years to regret, regret breaking with his family, particularly with his grandmother,” former deputy National Security Adviser K.T. McFarland said.

“And that sometimes things done in haste and youth are not the things that keep you happy in old age,” she added.

She noted the prince’s decision is likely colored by his childhood experience of his mother being killed in a car accident while trying to evade over-zealous paparazzi.

“In his mind, the press killed his mother and that’s what he’s looking out for, what are the press now doing to his new wife,” McFarland said.

Hilton agreed that it was a “fair point” but quitting is not actually the adult thing to do.

“Your heart really goes out to him,” Hilton told his panel. “On the other hand, people have tragedies in their lives and you have to move on. There’s a balancing of that and their responsibility.”

Trump 2020 campaign senior legal adviser, Jenna Ellis, had a different take.

“He may have been born into this, but he’s making, now as a husband and a father, the best decisions for his family,” she said of Prince Harry.

Hilton concluded that the prince should just step out of the limelight.

“Please just sort of go away and figure it out,” he said. “And just stop with this endless obsession with the royals.”
