After sitting around for a week twiddling his thumbs as President Donald Trump took care of Iran, a bearded Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, finally hopped into the limelight like some sort of tough guy late this week and demanded answers.
The tough talk began after the “crash” of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752, which suddenly plummeted to the ground in a fireball after taking off from the Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport early Wednesday morning.
Speaking on Thursday, he called for a “thorough investigation” into the “crash” and shared then-unconfirmed intelligence that the “crash” was caused by the possibly “unintentional” firing of an Iranian missile.
“We have intelligence from multiple sources — including our allies and our own intelligence: the evidence indicates that the plane was shot down by an Iranian surface-to-air missile,” he said. “This may well have been unintentional.”
Watch, and take note of his new look:

He was correct. Iran has since admitted that it “unintentionally” shot down the flight via two Russian-made SA-15 surface-to-air missiles.
In response to rapidly increasing aggression by Iran against a variety of countries, last week U.S. President Donald Trump ordered U.S. military forces to eliminate top Iranian general and terrorist mastermind Qasem Soleimani.
The rogue regime tried to “save face” afterward by conducting a lackluster missile strike against two Iraqi bases housing U.S. military houses.
As all this occurred, the previously shaved-face Trudeau purposefully remained mostly radio silent.
“In the days since the strike, the prime minister has not held any media availabilities or spoken publicly about the issue,” CTV News reported on Tuesday. “His office has only issued statements about the phone calls Trudeau has held with other leaders and sent a tweet from the prime minister’s account about the situation.”
That tweet may be seen below:
This morning, @HarjitSajjan and I met with @CDS_Canada_CEMD & @DMDND_SMMDN to discuss the latest developments in Iraq. The safety & well-being of Canadians in the region is our top priority, and we’ll keep monitoring the situation closely and encouraging de-escalation. pic.twitter.com/C3PUpUMFvR

And that was it, save for a statement from foreign affairs minister François-Philippe Champagne.
“Canada is in contact with our international partners,” he reportedly said. “The safety and well-being of Canadians in Iraq and the region, including our troops and diplomats, is our paramount concern,” he said. “We call on all sides to exercise restraint and pursue de-escalation. Our goal is and remains a united and stable Iraq.”
These soft statements spurred immediate accusations from Shuvaloy Majumdar, a former director of policy for foreign affairs under the conservative prime minister who preceded Trudeau, that the administration was downplaying Iranian aggression.
“I think de-escalation is certainly an appropriate call, but to somehow insinuate that American foreign policy has unnecessarily escalated the situation is not the best way to frame it,” he said to the National Post.
But save for the Post, nobody in Canada’s demonstrably left-wing media seemed to take note. According to critics, they were too busy fawning over the PM’s beard:
Canada’s unironic headline of the day: “Justin Trudeau Has a Beard Now. What Does It Mean?”
Followed by subheadings like “He’s a serious politician now”…
What a profoundly stupid time to be a Canadian. https://t.co/FNr1VhKp7Y

It was creep AF when Milo started calling Trump “daddy.”
Now we see the Canadian media doing the same thing with Trudeau. Gross. https://t.co/GVltl2yNZS

After 4 years on the job, a beard finally helps Trudeau get down to business.
Gotcha, MSM. Thanks.

World War Three is about to happen in the Middle East and my Twitter feed is full of people who feel compelled to comment on Justin Trudeau’s beard. I would like to die now, please.

In the aftermath of its strikes, Iran switched on its anti-missile systems for defensive purposes. Those systems wound up mistaking Flight 752 as a threat …
Trudeau’s attitude seemed to change spontaneously after it “crashed” — and justifiably so, given as the horrifying downing killed 63 Canadians, R.I.P.
A day after his statement about the need for a “thorough investigation,” the PM reiterated this during a call with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, which also lost innocent people in Wednesday’s horrifying crash.
“The Prime Minister and the President agreed on the need for a full, credible, and complete investigation of the crash and discussed Canada’s continued support for the investigation,” a statement from Trudeau’s office published Friday reads.
“Both leaders highlighted the need for cooperation to build a complete picture of the event, so that all those who suffered losses can get the answers they deserve.”
Had second conversation with @JustinTrudeau on the airplane crash in Iran. There should not be speculation about the tragedy; Ukraine and Canada will use all possible means to advocate for an objective and comprehensive investigation.

Meanwhile, the investigation into why Trudeau has suddenly donned a beard continues unabated, with conservative Hollywood actor Isaiah Washington asking on Twiter whether it was designed to mourn Soleimani:
Justin Trudeau has apologized more than once for being in blackface and brownface. One has to wonder now, if he’s growing a beard to mourn Qasem Soleimani and appease the Iranian Government. ? THIS: https://t.co/3Kt8J83enc

That seems unlikely, given as it presumably takes longer than just a couple of days to grow a whole beard.
