Farnaz Fassihi — an Iranian-American blogger with the New York Times — was trashed for fawning over dead terrorist Qasem Soleimani and then posting alarmist fake news claiming that Iran had bombed a U.S. airbase in retaliation.
The brouhaha erupted after Fassihi posted a video showing Soleimani gently reciting a poignant poem. Many viewed it as a blatant attempt to make a martyr of the radical Islamic terrorist.
Fassihi cooed: “Rare personal video of Gen. Soleimani reciting poetry shared by a source in Iran. About friends departing and him being left behind.”
Twitter users reacted by accusing Fassihi of spreading propaganda and trying to muster sympathy for Soleimani, who’s responsible for the deaths of more than 600 American soldiers.
Bestselling author Dinesh D’Souza remarked: “This comes as close as this left-wing journalist dares to a eulogy for Suleimani. How could he be this evil figure? The man was a gentle soul and a lover of poetry! Next up: A touching photograph of Hitler painting a sunset.”

Newsmax host John Cardillo noted: “Suleimani murdered countless US troops via proxies, innocents via terror, and his own people through the IRGC. He was literally one of the most brutal people in the world. Yet this is how a NY Times “reporter” chooses to remember him. As a poet.”

Former California Assemblyman Tim Donnelly observed: ” The New York Times is in mourning over the death of Soleimani. I guess the more Americans you kill, the more the media loves you.”

Farnaz Fassihi reacted by insisting that her romantic tweet about Soleimani was merely “reporting” and not an endorsement of a brutal murderer.
Fassihi tweeted: “Folks attacking me for sharing this video: It’s called reporting. It’s not an endorsement or sympathy. I share whatever info I get for all to see. That’s all.”
That lame response also elicited volcanic backlash for its patent absurdity. Author Mike Cernovich tweeted: “You’re a propagandist for a terrorist, and people see right through it. Even a few liberal reporters have privately messaged me, “WTF.”

Shortly afterward, Fassihi was blasted for spreading fake news after tweeting that she had received “unconfirmed” reports from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claiming that it had fired missiles at the U.S. Ain Assad Air Base in Iraq.
Fassihi relied on old photos of a bombing from years earlier to buttress her alarmist tweet. She deleted the post under heavy pressure from multiple Twitter users, who said her fake-news post could incite mass hysteria and more violence.

Director Robby Starbuck quipped: “This is absolutely fake news. There was no missile attack. By spreading this you’re helping Iran to spread their propaganda. Saying “unconfirmed” doesn’t make it any better to spread their propaganda. This is why nobody trusts the news anymore.”

Sadly, this New York Times blogger joins a huge chorus of left-wing media minions, who are mourning Qasem Soleimani while trashing President Trump for ordering the killing of a terrorist who had been plotting another deadly attack on Americans.
The Washington Post celebrated Soleimani as “Iran’s most revered military leader.”
The New Yorker magazine cooed that Soleimani was “a flamboyant former construction worker and bodybuilder with snowy-white hair, a dapper beard, and arching salt-and-pepper eyebrows.”
Radio host Tammy Bruce said the mainstream media are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, so their “knee-jerk reaction” is always to oppose Trump no matter what he does.
“This is a knee-jerk reaction now,” Bruce said on “The Ingraham Angle.” “It’s automatic, it’s instinct — because this is a good thing that President Trump did. They cannot accept something that would actually…cast a good light on the president. So their instinct, like with al-Baghdadi, is to try to cast these individuals as if they were like nice guys or maybe didn’t deserve this.”
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was the ISIS founder who was killed in a U.S. operation in Syria in October 2019.

Tammy Bruce continued: “They are so engaged in this delusion that it’s affecting their ability even to relate basic figures and facts when it comes to reality.”
Fortunately, Bruce said the public now sees through the leftist media gaslighting, so their blatant propaganda masquerading as “news” no longer fools them.
“The American people understand what’s happening,” Bruce said. “They can make up their minds about who’s ‘dangerous.’ It’s their family that are in the military. There is nothing this man can do that will be approved of [by deranged leftists]. And the American people see this for what it is.”
This is who the anti-American Left sides with. Keep in mind that radical Islamists have been chanting “Death to America” and burning our flag for years.
Thousands chanted "death to America" during Friday prayers in Tehran.
