New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo unleashed the gates of hell on himself Sunday by posting a tweet so “phony” and “fake” that hundreds of people emerged to shut him down.
Following a mass stabbing at a Rabbi’s home in Rockland County late Saturday evening, Cuomo rushed to Twitter to virtue-signal.
Look:
I am horrified by the stabbing of multiple people at a synagogue in Rockland County tonight.
We have zero tolerance for anti-Semitism in NY and we will hold the attacker accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

Was he really horrified, though? And was he even remotely serious about holding criminals, including anti-Semites, accountable for their actions? The evidence suggests not.
As noted by the hundreds of people who popped up to fact-check him, his policies have eroded accountability from the system by granting criminals a get-out-of-jail-free card.

“There’s no more cash bail for most misdemeanor and nonviolent felony arrests,” Spectrum News reported in October. “The list includes criminally negligent homicide and unlawful imprisonment. If you’re accused of one of those crimes you’ll be issued an appearance ticket. The expectation is you’ll go back to court for your next court date instead of possibly sitting and waiting in jail.”
Except that these seemingly benign “nonviolent felony arrests” cover a whole host of very “un-benign” crimes, including aggravated vehicular manslaughter, arson in the third/fourth degree, money laundering in support of terrorism in the third/fourth degree and much more.
It’s an arguably insane policy, but thanks to it, an anti-Semitic woman who confessed to purposefully punching three Orthodox Jewish women in Brooklyn early Saturday morning was immediately released after being arraigned. So was an unlicensed illegal alien whose poor driving led to the death of a mother of three.
And thanks to this policy, it’s unclear how many more reprobates and anti-Semites will also benefit, as noted by the legions of folks who came after Cuomo.

Cuomo’s response to hate crimes: bail reform. Total failure.
— Rachel Bledi (@RachelBledi) December 29, 2019
Thanks to your bail reform laws, there are going to be many, many more of these attacks. You have destroyed New York.

fullest extent of the law = “catch’n release”
— Agentsmith212 (@Agentsmith212) December 29, 2019
Bullsh1t. Under your law, he will be released with no bail. Isn’t that correct?
— Nikki Nespresso (@ringleader247) December 29, 2019
Which law? The law that will have him back on the streets, without posting bail, by lunchtime? #CuomosNewYork

YOU MUST BE THROWN OUT FROM OFFICE FAST!! ITS YOU THAT IS CAUSING ALL THESE PROBLEMS. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU AND YOUR DEMOCRAPIC CRONIES PUSH BAIL REFORM AND LET CRIMINALS BACK ONTO STREETS. PRESIDENT TRUMP NEEDS TO GET INVOLVED AND TAKE YOU DOWN.

All you are doing is paying lip service. You’re spewing platitudes. We’re fxxxing sick of your lip service & platitudes. We want action. We want bail reinstituted. We want tougher sentencing. We want our police to be freed of their handcuffs.

The anger was palpable.
It’s not clear whether his bail reform measures will apply to the synagogue suspect, who’s been identified as 37-year-old Thomas Grafton, though the possibility certainly exists given all the other reprobates who’ve been automatically freed as of late.

They include someone who reportedly sucker-punched a cop:
As we said earlier: the perps know they can sucker punch a cop and escape with no consequences. The perp who assaulted our police officer has been released without bail back onto the streets pic.twitter.com/vvRetr8SWw

As well as eight other anti-Semites, including the woman who punched three Orthodox Jewish women.
“Suspects arrested in last week’s spree of eight anti-Semitic attacks are being quickly released right back into the neighborhoods they terrorized thanks to ‘bail reform’ legislation — which doesn’t even take [formally] effect until Jan. 1,” the New York Post notes.
On Sunday in Manhattan, a man reportedly punched and kicked a 65-year-old Jewish man who’d been wearing a yarmulke. Two days later, a group of people reportedly harassed a 25-year-old Jewish man. Later that same day, another group of people reportedly punched a 56-year-old Jewish man from behind. Etc., Etc., Etc.
Meanwhile, instead of examining the Democrat Party’s failed policies, liberals are either virtue-signaling about the evils of anti-Semitism or blaming the growing crime and anti-Semitism in New York on President Donald Trump:

Trump is directly to blame for this antisemitic violence and if we don’t take drastic steps to address this threat the attacks will become worse and more frequent. #Monsey https://t.co/zvWq4Q1wzM
