Representative Elissa Slotkin is getting cold feet on the sham impeachment of President Donald Trump.
The Michigan Democrat who ran as a “moderate” and previously advocated for impeaching the president now is “undecided” in her vote to move ahead.

Slotkin, a freshman lawmaker elected to a swing district in 2018, came under fire by her own constituents after she came out in favor of impeachment. She revealed Wednesday that her office phones have been “ringing off the hook” on the issue.
“The phones are ringing off the hook,” the congresswoman told CNN correspondent Manu Raju, who tweeted the video and captioned that Slotkin told him she was undecided on how she would vote.
“We literally can’t pick up the phone fast enough, and it’s people on both sides” of the issue, the former CIA officer said.

Slotkin joined other freshmen Democrats in an op-ed in The Washington Post in September, calling for impeaching the president. She also addressed her stand during a town hall in Michigan which raised the ire of many of her constituents.

“The issue that got to me was this idea that the President, the most powerful man in the world, reached out to a foreigner, a foreign leader, and asked him to dig up dirt on an American,” she told the gathered crowd in the Trump-supporting district.
During her remarks, angry voters yelled out “Not true!” and “Fake news!”
Reps. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey and Colin Peterson of Minnesota are Democrats who have openly said they will vote against impeachment while many of their more vulnerable colleagues, with eyes on 2020, are straddling the fence like Slotkin.
A group of moderate House Democrats representing districts that voted for Trump in the 2016 elections are floating the idea of censuring the president over his actions regarding Ukraine, rather than going through with impeachment.
“I think it’s certainly appropriate and might be a little more bipartisan, who knows,” Oregon Rep. Kurt Schrader told Politico after a meeting earlier this week ahead of the announcement of articles of impeachment against Trump.
Freshman Reps. Tom Malinowski of New Jersey, Sharice Davids from Kansas and Pennsylvania’s Susan Wild have said they plan to support the articles of impeachment despite their vulnerable positions. But many of the 31 Democrats who represent districts that Trump carried in 2016 have not publicly committed to how they will vote.
“I need to see all the facts. I’m not going to prejudge anything until we get every bit of information in, and then we’ll make a decision,” New Jersey Democrat Rep. Josh Gottheimer said.
That wavering indecision, as in Slotkin’s case, drew many reactions on social media.
Elissa Slotkin was one of the first Democrats to support impeachment.
And even worse, her constituents made it clear they don’t support this charade.

She stated she is “undecided” which means – her district is screaming at her, DO NOT IMPEACH.

She is toast regardless of her vote, so she will go ahead and vote yes to keep her good graces within the party. Never forget that she stated “party over country always”.

She’s waiting for the last minute and then will do Nancy’s bidding. She OWES Nancy her seat in Congress. It’s payup time.

She was elected to represent the people in her district, bottom line.

@ElissaSlotkin you said you would work with President Trump. You vote for this false ridiculous impeachment you won’t get my vote. Dems are like children making up one lie after another to try to get their way. Seems like they don’t even understand what the truth is.
