NBC’s Katy Tur: ‘one of the biggest rallies I’ve seen’

In the wake of the Democratic Party announcing two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, the president held a rally in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Despite the partisan attempt to remove Trump from office, he is as popular as ever, as the Giant Arena was filled to capacity for Tuesday night’s event, with a strong overflow crowd, according to The Patriot-News.

While it’s difficult to ascertain exactly what was being discussed from a four-second clip, NBC News correspondent Katy Tur was captured in a video clip shared on social media saying “it’s one of the biggest rallies I’ve seen.”

That’s the same interpretation former Trump aide Sebastian Gorka came away with, as he informed the reporter she has 328 days remaining to get on the Trump Train.

One thing is certain, the enthusiasm on display Tuesday night was through the roof, as the president’s supports were not dissuaded by Democrats and what many see as an attempted coup to overthrow Trump.

The Patriot-News featured Timothy Florio, who drove for an hour to attend the rally with his family, to include his son, a US Marine just home from deployment, who he was hoping would get to see Trump speak.

Getting in line at 3 p.m. for the evening rally, the family did not make it in.

“He has a tremendous amount of support in Pennsylvania,” Florio said of President Trump.

Polling supports that assessment, as a Firehouse/Optimus December Battleground State Poll attests.

With the partisan impeachment ploy moving head, Trump is doing very well against the leading Democratic contenders.

And Pennsylvania is not the only battleground state where Trump is holding strong.

“As the race currently stands, President Trump is in the lead in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in hypothetical match-ups against former Vice President Joe Biden, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Bernie Sanders, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and former Mayor Michael Bloomberg,” Firehouse Strategies reported.

NBC News was on hand at the Trump rally to see how the president’s supporters were responding to the news that Pelosi and Co. filed articles of impeachment.

“You can see how upset I am,” one woman said. “I’m telling you right now there are people out here that are so enraged. We are so fed up, and so, of course, we’re going to be stronger even coming back to vote for President Trump again.”

In the end, with the Senate unlikely to convict Trump, it appears that the American voters will indeed have the final say on the president’s political future.

As it should be.
