President Trump’s campaign will no longer credential Bloomberg News reporters in light of the news that the agency’s owner, Michael Bloomberg, is entering the 2020 Democratic primary race.
Trump’s campaign manager, Brad Parscale, said Bloomberg News recently reported approach to covering the election “is troubling and wrong.”
“The decision by Bloomberg News to formalize preferential reporting policies is troubling and wrong,” Parscale wrote in a statement. “Bloomberg News has declared that they won’t investigate their boss or his Democrat competitors, many of whom are current holders of high office, but will continue critical reporting on President Trump.”
“Since they have declared their bias openly, the Trump campaign will no longer credential representatives of Bloomberg News for rallies or other campaign events,” he added. “We will determine whether to engage with individual reporters or answer inquiries from Bloomberg News on a case-by-case basis. This will remain the policy of the Trump campaign until Bloomberg News publicly rescinds its decision.”

The decision comes after it was reported last week that Bloomberg News will refrain from investigating Mike Bloomberg or his Democratic rivals in the primaries, yet its investigations of Trump will proceed undeterred.
Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait said in a memo to editorial and research staff: “We will continue our tradition of not investigating Mike (and his family and foundation) and we will extend the same policy to his rivals in the Democratic primaries. We can not treat Mike’s democratic competitors differently from him.”
Somehow, the editor thinks a limited approach to covering an election is acceptable journalism.
Micklethwait dismissed Parscale’s concerns, telling Fox News: “The accusation of bias couldn’t be further from the truth. We have covered Donald Trump fairly and in an unbiased way since he became a candidate in 2015 and will continue to do so despite the restrictions imposed by the Trump campaign.”
Wall Street Journal correspondent Vivian Salama reported on the move in a tweet.
“Breaking: Trump campaign will not longer credential Bloomberg News reporters after its announcement that it will not investigate Michael Bloomberg, a candidate for the democratic nomination,” Salama tweeted.
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, responded to her tweet with a heavy dose of logic.
“Q: Should the Trump campaign issue ‘press’ credentials to DNC oppo researchers? If not, how is that any different from Bloomberg’s stated policy?” Cruz tweeted.

Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a tweet that the GOP stands with the Trump campaign and will follow suit.
“Media outlets should be independent and fair, and this decision proves that Bloomberg News is neither,” she tweeted. “The GOP stands with @TeamTrump and will no longer credential Bloomberg representatives.

Here’s a sampling of other responses to the story from Twitter:
Fairness and independence should be central tenets of any media organization.
Bloomberg News clearly disagrees.
The @GOP joins with @TeamTrump and will stop credentialing them.

Bloomberg News is full of talented, meticulous and fair-minded reporters who abhor the decision their bosses made. Mike Bloomberg made clear he wouldn’t tolerate critical coverage from his own outlet, so the only choice was quit or execute his wishes.

Is this a joke?
It doesn’t get more biased than Bloomberg News refusing to investigate its own boss now he’s running for President, or any other Democrat candidate…but ONLY investigating President Trump. https://t.co/i8McZdEqLp— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 2, 2019
I mean, why even give them access? They already make up their own stories if the truth and facts don’t fit their narrative. They can just be official Leftist Fan Fic writers, and publish new stories on their live journals.

Good decision.

As it should be! Openly admitting that you aren’t interested in truth, lying by omission (like Weinstein & Epstein)but you will gladly come after the President…who has been investigated more then any other President in history…you don’t deserve a seat at the table!

This is a pretty decent argument
