The Democrat Party’s original radical, former President Barack Hussein Obama, has tried to slap some sense into his party going into the 2020 presidential election, not that many are choosing to heed his rare bout of genuine wisdom.
“Former President Barack Obama offered an unusual warning to the Democratic primary field on Friday evening, cautioning the candidates not to move too far to the left in their policy proposals, even as he sought to reassure a party establishment worried about the electoral strength of their historically large primary field,” The New York Times has confirmed.
Speaking to a room reportedly brimming with “wealthy liberal donors,” the former socialist-light president specifically warned the party against basing its agenda on the views of “certain left-leaning Twitter feeds” or “the activist wing of our party.”
Ironically, this same “activist wing” used their “Twitter feeds” to blast him for being a fraud after the words from his speech went viral across the internet late Friday:

The idea that Obama was a centrist versus a rigid left-wing ideologue is demonstrably false. More on this later though.
“Even as we push the envelope and we are bold in our vision we also have to be rooted in reality,” the former president reportedly said in his speech. “The average American doesn’t think we have to completely tear down the system and remake it.”
This would certainly come as news to contemporary Democrats such as 2020 contenders Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, not to mention their die-hard supporters.
“His remarks offered an implicit critique of Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, who have urged voters to embrace ‘political revolution’ and ‘big, structural change,’ as well as proposals once widely considered to be left to the liberal fringes of the party, including court packing and decriminalizing illegal border crossings,” the Times notes.
Both Warren and Sanders support siphoning wealth from billionaire business owners to fund the lifestyles of every American and non-American alike. Sanders also believes in defending nefarious dictators and allying with anti-Semites.
Continuing his speech, Obama reportedly acknowledged that more so-called “progress” is needed but pushed back on the idea that the only approach that’ll garner the American people’s attention is a radical one.
“I don’t think we should be deluded into thinking that the resistance to certain approaches to things is simply because voters haven’t heard a bold enough proposal and if they hear something as bold as possible then immediately that’s going to activate them,” he said.
The former president was correct, according to polling data.
A Quinnipiac University Poll published last month revealed that a 79 percent majority of Republicans, 48 percent plurality of independents and 17 percent minority of Democrats believed the Democrat Party had moved “too far left.” In total, a 47 percent plurality of voters were concerned about the party’s leftward drift into radicalism.
Moreover, Obama wasn’t alone in expressing this sentiment. Some Democrat voters have reportedly been overheard saying basically the same thing:

In a statement over the summer, media mogul Robert Johnson, a longtime Democrat, admitted that he also feels the party has moved “too far to the left,” adding that this was why he was having difficulty choosing a Democrat primary candidate to support.
“And for that reason, I don’t have a particular candidate [I’m supporting] in the party at this time,” he said. “I think at the end of the day, if a Democrat is going to beat Trump, that person, he or she, is going to have to move to the center and you can’t wait too long to do that.”
Dovetailing back to Obama, while his policies were certainly more “centrist” than those of Warren and Biden, they were arguably radical nevertheless:
He promoted kangaroo courts for campus sexual assault without taking into consideration the age-old notion of due process.
He promoted alleged transgender rights without taking into consideration the equally age-old notion of women’s privacy.
He fought against “Stand Your Ground” gun rights laws that, despite his racial grievances, have in reality benefited the black community.
He compared the historical sins of Christianity to the massacres being committed by contemporary Islamic radicals.
He gutted the federal work requirements that were the cornerstone of America’s welfare system.
Etc., Etc., Etc.
Obama was no centrist. Though compared to contemporary Democrats, he’s practically a Republican.
