GOP Rep ‘hides’ Epstein message in tweet storm, triggers left into ‘conspiracy’ meltdown

Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, a Republican, triggered members of the perpetually enraged left Wednesday by doing something unthinkable: Having a little fun. Oh, no!

Before, during and after the Democrats’ first, arguably unsuccessful impeachment hearing, the congressman posted 23 tweets where the first letters spelled out “Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself”:

Look, and keep an eye out on the first letter:

In case you missed the meme, here’s a compilation from Carpe Donktum:

What made the stunt so amazing was the excellent execution.

First, note that the actual content of all 23 tweets was relevant to the impeachment hearing. Some tweets even contained video footage and pertinent talking points.

Second, keep in mind Gosar posted the tweets over the span of eight hours, with the first tweet (the E in Epstein) being posted at 7:21 am, and the final tweet (the F in Himself) being posted at 3:09 pm.

And third, consider the response it triggered. Whereas members of the right chuckled at the congressman echoing one of the most popular memes of 2019, a stunning number of left-wingers threw a hissy fit about “conspiracy theories.”

The irony was apparently lost on them …

Included among them was disgraced former California Rep. Katie Hill:

Members of the partisan media meanwhile pontificated over the tweets’ meaning.

“It is unclear whether Gosar believes the hidden Epstein message or tweeted it to indicate his views that the impeachment proceedings against Trump are grounded on conspiracy theories,” Newsweek reported.

That itself sounds like a conspiracy theory, though a possible one. Some conservatives suspect however that the congressman was just trying to have some fun during what was described by critics as a hearing as boring as “watching paint dry.”

Meanwhile, a writer at Mediaite used Gomar’s otherwise non-controversial tweets to accuse him of “nuttery,” while a writer at Gizmodo used it to take a deep dive into white nationalism …

“For many on the political right, which in the Trump era has increasingly embraced fringe beliefs backing their deeply held conviction that conservatives are the victims of an elaborate plot to censor and victimize them, Epstein’s death bolsters baseless theories asserting that the Clintons have had a long list of political enemies assassinated,” the left-wing writer opined.

In parenthesis, he added, “White supremacists and other members of the far-right movement are particularly obsessed with the Clintons, who they tried to rope into the ludicrous Pizzagate theory asserting a DC-area restaurant was actually a Democratic child sex dungeon slash Satanic place of worship.”

It’s not clear whether the writer realized that, one, Gizmodo itself has confirmed that conservatives have indeed been censored online (see tweet below), and two, sometimes a fun meme is just a fun meme …

Speaking of fun memes, Gosar ended his Wednesday with two additional fun tweets — tweets that are no doubt guaranteed to trigger even more members of the left.
