‘End of story’: Alyssa Milano takes heat for emphatic Ukraine claim that’s way off base

Head’s up: Somebody died.

Who died? Nobody knows. When did he or she die? Nobody knows. Was he or she ever even alive in the first place? Who knows!?

Nobody seems to know except for Hollywood actress and “super-sciency” expert Alyssa Milano, who’s as confident in her belief that somebody died as she is in her belief that she’s a disabled, transgender person of color, not to mention an immigrant, a lesbian and a gay man ….

Like the actress turned oracle of truth tweeted during the Democrats’ first impeachment hearing Wednesday, “People died because Trump withheld assistance. That’s it. End of story.

Preach it, honey!

Except wait a minute, that makes zero sense.

Why? Because for one, Trump only temporarily withheld assistance from Ukraine. The assistance was eventually provided after his administration confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was serious about investigating credible allegations of corruption.

Plus, Ukraine wasn’t owed that money, as noted by some of Milano’s “America First” critics:

Was the latter Twitter user right though about there being “nothing wrong” with America “being careful of how our tax money is being spent in foreign countries?”

Well, just ask former President Barack Hussein Obama, a Democrat whose administration withheld lethal aid from Ukraine.

“In 2014, after Russia annexed Crimea and began arming separatists in eastern Ukraine with tanks, armored vehicles and rocket launchers, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko came to Washington to plead for weapons to defend his country,” the New York Post notes.

“In an impassioned address to a joint session of Congress — with [then-Vice President Joe] Biden sitting directly behind him — Poroshenko said his country appreciated the nonlethal assistance he was getting, but declared ‘one cannot win a war with blankets.'”

How did Obama and Biden respond? By saying no.

“Team Obama feared that lethal aid would provoke Moscow,” the Post’s report continues. “So what did the administration give him? Instead of rocket-propelled grenades, we provided food rations. As one frustrated former Pentagon official put it at the time, ‘What kind of message does that send anyway?’ Answer: a message of weakness.”

As noted by more of Milano’s social media critics, it’s unclear how many Ukrainians may have died because of the former president’s notorious fecklessness:

Everything they alleged was true.

After stepping into office in 2017, Trump finally provided Ukraine with the lethal aid the country had spent three years begging Obama to hand over.

“In May 2018, after Ukraine tested its new Javelin missiles, [then-Ukrainian President Petro] Poroshenko exulted on Twitter ‘Finally this day has come!’ and personally thanked Trump ‘for supporting Ukraine and adopting a decision to provide Javelin antitank missile systems,'” the Post’s report concludes.

Why isn’t Milano aware of this? And why has she trotted out such an easily disproved conspiracy theory? Because she clearly reads The Washington Post, one of many far-left outlets that provide a dangerously distorted view of reality.

A view in which, for instance, it’s apparently a factual statement to assert that “People died while Trump played games with Ukraine’s military aid”:

When one only consumes fake news, this is what happens *points to “disabled, transgender person of color” Alyssa Milano …
