‘Heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend’ witness hypes another NEW Trump phone call

Despite Democrats committing themselves fully to the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump’s alleged attempt to get the Ukrainian government to investigate a political rival — Joe Biden — they have still come up with no solid evidence of any wrongdoing. Everything they have presented thus far has been second or thirdhand information, and Wednesday’s public hearing was no different.

William Taylor, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, was one of the witnesses called to testify before Congress and he presented nothing new or substantial. He was simply there to use rumors and hearsay to confirm the latest conspiracy theories being pushed by Democrats.

At one point in the hearing, Taylor tried hyping up a completely new Ukraine-related phone call where Trump supposedly tried pressuring Ukraine into an investigation.

Taylor said he was aware of a Ukraine-related phone call made by Trump where “the investigations” into Biden and his son were mentioned. Taylor says Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, was on the other end of the line and said the Biden investigation was “were ready to move forward.”

The trouble? Taylor did not hear this phone call. He said he heard about the phone call from a member of his staff. To make matters worse, that staff member wasn’t even directly involved in the phone call, but instead overheard some of the alleged information.

“Last Friday, a member of my staff told me of events that occurred on July 26. While Ambassador Volker and I visited the front, this member of my staff accompanied Ambassador Sondland. Ambassador Sondland met with Mr. Yermak,” Taylor said.

“Following that meeting, in the presence of my staff at a restaurant, Ambassador Sondland called President Trump and told him of his meetings in Kyiv. The member of my staff could hear President Trump on the phone, asking Ambassador Sondland about ‘the investigations.’ Ambassador Sondland told President Trump that the Ukrainians were ready to move forward,” he continued.

“Following the call with President Trump, the member of my staff asked Ambassador Sondland what President Trump thought about Ukraine. Ambassador Sondland responded that President Trump cares more about the investigations of Biden, which Giuliani was pressing for,” Taylor added. “At the time I gave my deposition on October 22, I was not aware of this information. I am including it here for completeness.”

Taylor said he went on to report this information the State Department’s Legal Adviser.

This passing on of rumor should be no surprise at this point in the impeachment inquiry since the entire investigation was kicked off by a whistleblower complaint that contained zero firsthand information.

Not surprisingly, folks are a little tired of this investigation with no substance and took to social media to say so, especially in regard to Taylor’s testimony.
