During Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle’s stormy appearance on ABC’s “The View” this Thursday, co-host Whoopi Goldberg appeared to tell a barefaced lie.
After Guilfoyle, a former Fox News contributor, rightly pointed out that the co-hosts of the ABC talk show have been gunning for President Donald Trump’s impeachment since the day after his successful election to office in 2016, Goldberg cried foul.
“That isn’t true!” she hollered in rebuttal.
“Well, it was on this show on November 9,” Guilfoyle replied.
“No, actually it wasn’t,” Goldberg responded.
As the saying goes… roll the tape:
Recorded on Nov. 9, 2016, the clip above shows Goldberg vowing to kick Trump out of office with impeachment if he doesn’t do what he was apparently supposed to do.
“Well, if he doesn’t, then we can kick his ass out,” she said. “There is such a thing called ‘impeachment.'”
Available for review further below, the full segment shows her and her co-hosts talking about the then-president-elect’s post-election plans.
“I want to see what he’s going to do next because he promised that he’s going to repeal Obamacare and put in something else. Now, I’d like his people to remember, he once said that he believes in single-payer. So let’s see,” Behar said.
True, but he expressed support for single-payer health care decades ago — long before he switched parties and became a Republican.
“You know what that is? Socialism! So let’s see if he does that,” Behar added.
Goldberg then cut in to say, “You know what? It [the president winning the election] happened.”
“He’s not going to do anything he says,” Behar briefly interjected.
And that was when Goldberg dropped the impeachment line.
Fast-forward to the 7:55 remark in the video below to hear the full discussion:
Goldberg trotted out the lie after Guilfoyle tried to point out that the left has opposed Trump since day one.
“When you look at the facts, when you look at the circumstances, you look at, in fact, even on this show the first day after the election you said, ‘Now let’s start with impeachment,'” she said.
“This has been a concerted effort by a lot of people who are disappointed with the results of the election to undo it and remove a duly-elected President of the United States.”
Her remarks came only hours after word broke that the partisan whistleblower’s attorney, Mark S. Zaid, has been tweeting about waging a “coup” against the president since his inauguration to office.
“#Coup has started. First of many steps. #rebellion. #impeachment will follow ultimately. #lawyers,” Zaid tweeted on Jan. 30, 2017, only days after Trump’s inauguration.
Six months later, he posted two additional tweets vowing that “[w]e will get rid of him” and predicting that the anti-Trump network CNN would “play a key role” in Trump’s ouster.
— Mark S. Zaid (@MarkSZaidEsq) January 31, 2017
It’s very scary. We will get rid of him, and this country is strong enough to survive even him and his supporters. We have to.

Two months after his final set of tweets, Zaid co-founded Whistleblower Aid, a firm whose stated purpose is to help “patriotic government employees and brave, private-sector workers report and publicize their concerns — safely, lawfully, and responsibly.”
“We help government employees and private-sector workers uphold their obligations and protect the public. Whistleblower Aid provides lawful alternatives to illicit leaking,” the firm’s mission statement reads.
Almost exactly two years later, Zaid’s accepted the anti-Trump whistleblower as a client.
These revelations have sparked legitimate concerns that the whistleblower’s accusations against the president are part of a purposefully engineered “deep state” political hit job designed to spur his ouster — i.e. impeachment — from office.
Goldberg’s refusal to acknowledge the truth Thursday did her no favors. If anything, it inspired social media sleuths to dig into her past and locate other examples of her lying and/or behaving in repugnant ways.
Case in point: When Trump Jr. called Behar out for having once worn blackface, Goldberg asserted the claim was a lie.
Don Jr. just blew the panel up by bringing up the time Joy Behar wore blackface. Whoopi and her both immediately said he was lying.
Jezebel called it “blackface-lite.”https://t.co/sub4OKedgw

And then when the president’s son went on to note that Goldberg doesn’t have much room to talk about bad “character” given as she’d once defended rapist Roman Polanski, she caught an attitude.
YES!@DonaldJTrumpJr IS THE DAMN MAN. He calls out Whoopi for siding with Roman Polanski and Joy Behar for wearing blackface.
I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS MOMENT FOR YEARS.
Thank you Donald Trump Jr. and God Bless you, patriot. pic.twitter.com/NZfNWGl7am

In response, social media users rolled out more ‘tape’:
Flashback to Whoopi explaining away the rape of a 13 year old girl.
You know, if you say OK BEFORE being plied with alcohol/drugs and THEN sexually assaulted in her eyes it’s not “rape rape”
