President Trump blasted the “sleazeball” attorney for the whistleblower and the predictions of a “coup” he made years ago.

The president certainly spoke for a lot of Americans as he expressed his disgust during a Louisiana campaign rally over what he has repeatedly asserted is a plot to overturn his presidency.

After railing against Democrats and their multiple hoaxes aimed at removing him from office, Trump turned his attention to a Fox News article from earlier in the day which reported that Mark Zaid, the attorney for the whistleblower, had tweeted multiple impeachment-related posts going back to 2017.

The lawyer tweeted that a “coup has started” and that “impeachment will follow ultimately” in January 2017 and vowed two years ago, “We will get rid of him.”

“Democrats must be accountable for their hoaxes and their crimes,” Trump told the Louisiana crowd on Wednesday as he pulled out a printout of the Fox News report.

“I don’t know if you saw, I’m just coming off the plane, and they hand me — look at this character. They just hand me this story,” Trump said, reading part of the article that said ”’Coup has started,’ whistleblower attorney said in 2017.'”

“That was a long time ago. It’s all a hoax. They say, January 2017 — a ‘coup has started,’ and the ‘impeachment will follow ultimately.’ It’s all a hoax. It’s a scam. And, you know who helps them? These people back here — the media,” the president said, pointing to the back of the venue.

Trump also noted that the article reported a tweet from Zaid declaring that CNN would play a part in him “not finishing out his full term as president,” and Zaid had also tweeted that “as one falls, two more will take their place,” an apparent reference to Trump administration employees whom the president said had been “put through hell” by the media and “crooked politicians.”

“Can you believe this?” Trump asked. “Just came out. It’s a disgrace. These people are bad people. They rip the guts out of our country.”

The president’s mention of the media and Democrats’ impeachment “scam” against him fired up the overflow crowd at the rally, which was held in the Louisiana city of Monroe in an effort to help Republican businessman Eddie Rispone’s campaign against incumbent Democrat Gov. John Bel Edwards.

In attendance were members of the Robertson family and stars of the reality television show “Duck Dynasty.” The president brought them up briefly to speak to the crowd.

“If you’re pro-God and pro-America and pro-gun and pro-duck hunting, that’s all I want,” Phil Robertson said to cheers from the crowd.

Trump’s reading of Zaid’s tweets at the rally fired up Twitter users as well and many applauded the president’s decision to publicly address the remarks.
