Joe Biden’s new future nickname for Trump has folks spitting liquid

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden fired a lame shot at President Trump that failed in a spectacular way.

The former vice president issued what was meant to be a scathing attack on the president by issuing a “nickname of his own” for 2020.

But trying to own Trump, who has mastered the art of nicknaming his critics and rivals, proved to be too ambitious for Biden:

Hard to believe Trump will be feeling the sting from the jab by what may well be his Democratic opponent. The president has referred to the former vice president and longtime Delaware senator as “Sleepy Joe.”

“Welcome to the race Sleepy Joe. I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign,” Trump tweeted back in April. “It will be nasty — you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!”

Biden at the time swung back by calling the president a “clown.”

Trump has bestowed many nicknames that have, unfortunately for the recipients, stuck well past their relevance, such as “crooked Hillary Clinton” and repeatedly referring to Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren as ‘Pocahontas” for making false statements about her Native American ancestry.

In the latest attacks on Trump amid the ongoing impeachment inquiry by House Democrats, the president has fired out more nicknames that quickly catch on, such as the “do-nothing Democrats,” as well as “Shifty Adam Schiff,” referring to California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff.

Biden’s shot at Trump was met with collective ridicule on Twitter where many wondered how the attempt at an insult even counted as a nickname, or whether the 76-year-old could even count.

New national polls found that Biden, Warren and Sen. Bernie Sanders are leading the Democratic candidates with the former vice president continuing to be the Democratic frontrunner. A poll cited by Fox News showed Biden with a 12-point lead over Trump but was later called out for oversampling Democrats.

Whether Trump ends up facing off against Biden or not as the coming months will show, Twitter users were amused that the Democrat thought he could rattle the president with his no-nickname dig.
