Ana Navarro’s discussion with Sen. Rand Paul quickly escalated as “The View” co-host demanded he not “mansplain” to her on socialism.

Navarro locked horns with the Kentucky Republican on Friday’s episode of “The View,” asking him about socialism and quickly erupting at his response.

“You talk about Venezuela in your new book,” the CNN commentator began, referring to the senator’s book titled, “The Case Against Socialism,” and noting that she lives in Miami, Florida, where many Venezuelan exiles also live.

“I get a lot of political ads from the Republican Party,” Navarro, an anti-Trump critic who identifies as a Republican, said. “Donald Trump has tweeted this. Many have tweeted this: If you vote for Democrats, they will turn the United States into Venezuela. Do you think that’s a fair statement to make?”

The GOP lawmaker, sporting a casual blue plaid jacket and white turtleneck, responded with a simple answer.

“Well, if you vote for a socialist, you might get socialism,” he said, immediately seating Navarro off.

“Come on. Don’t do that. Maduro is not a Socialist. He’s a corrupt, murderous thug who is starving his people,” she exclaimed, raising her fist.

“That’s not true,” Paul replied.

“That’s not true? Maduro is not a thug and murderer who is starving his people?” Navarro yelled back.

“They voted for socialism—let me finish,” Paul attempted to explain.

“Chavez was a Socialist and Socialism was the economic system of Venezuela,” he continued as Navarro talked over him and shook her head at his response. “Let me finish.”

“No, I can’t let you finish. If you are going to say Maduro is not a murderer, that’s a damn lie. I have got a bunch of neighbors and friends who know this,” the belligerent co-host interrupted, not allowing the senator to complete his remarks.

“Don’t do this to me,” she ordered the lawmaker after he waved his hands at her rude ranting. “Don’t mansplain! I’m a 47-year-old woman!”

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg regained control in time to end the segment before a commercial break.

Earlier in the segment, Paul attempted to explain the U.S. progressive tax system and the “big lie” in Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign promises to “give you all this free stuff.”

The tensions were already mounting on the show when Paul expressed his support of President Trump’s controversial decision this week to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria.

“I think the Iraq War, and the regime change in the Middle East are senseless, and so does President Trump. He doesn’t want to get involved in another Iraq War in Syria,” Paul said. “If anything, Syria is more complicated.”

“The View” co-host Meghan McCain, who has been openly critical of the lawmaker and Trump’s decision, was absent from the show when the senator made his guest appearance.

“There is blood on anyone’s hands, starting with [Paul] and President Trump’s, letting this happen because there are people being slaughtered after standing with our troops in the Middle East for an extremely long time fighting against terror cells,” she said during Thursday’s episode. “The whole point of having proxies is so we don’t get into another war. And I’m sorry… have we not learned the lessons of 9/11? And I don’t understand it!”
