Hollywood actor Robert De Niro isn’t just a foulmouthed anti-Trump zealot — he’s also allegedly a sexist, misogynist, and abusive pig who privately refers to women as “b*****s” and “c**ts” and who spent over a decade harassing, berating, and bullying his former female assistant.
These and other stunning allegations were laid out in a counter-lawsuit filed Thursday in Manhattan Federal Court by the actor’s former female assistant, Chase Robinson.
Included with the suit was the following shocking, profanity-laced voicemail from 2012 that De Niro left for Robinson in which he called her a “spoiled f**king brat” and threatened to fire her:
De Niro isn’t the only vehemently anti-Trump actor with a habit of leaving bad-tempered voicemails.
“De Niro communicated in a hostile, abusive, and intimidating manner with Ms. Robinson,” the lawsuit reads, according to the New York Daily News.
“He attacked her in gender terms, calling her a ‘b***h’ and a ‘brat.’ In speaking to Ms. Robinson, he called his female business partner a ‘c**t’ and referred to his executive assistants as ‘the girls.’ De Niro would unleash tirades against Ms. Robinson — often while he was intoxicated — in which he denigrated, berated, bullied, and hurled expletives at her.”
The suit further claims that the actor would:
- Joke around about his Viagra prescription.
- Joke around about his “paramour.”
- Tell Robinson to imagine him on the toilet.
- Make Robinson scratch his back.
- Make Robinson button his shirts.
- Make Robinson fix his collars.
- Make Robinson tie his ties.
- Make Robinson “prod him awake when he was in bed.”
- Do nothing if one of his friends slapped Ms. Robinson on the butt.
“De Niro made vulgar, inappropriate, and gendered comments to Ms. Robinson … De Niro initiated gratuitous physical contact with Ms. Robinson based on her gender,” the suit continues.
Speaking with The New York Times, Robinson, who reportedly worked for De Niro from 2008 til this past April, said that the actor wasn’t just abusive — he was habitually abusive.
“When he was verbally abusive he would be cursing and calling me names,” she said. “He would hang up just to call back and do it all over again.”
It’s not clear whether repeatedly cursing out his former female assistant was simply part of his anger management or whether he’d taken some sort of sick pleasure in it.
Robinson also revealed how De Niro had essentially treated her like his “office wife,” despite both her presumably high credentials and her otherwise impressive job titles.
“Ms. Robinson said that even as she took on new job titles throughout her 11 years at the company, eventually becoming vice president of production and finance, Mr. De Niro required that she do domestic work, such as vacuuming the floors and setting the table in his private home,” the Times reported. “She said that she complained to Mr. De Niro about his behavior and that, at times, things would improve temporarily.”
The lawsuit was filed amid both De Niro’s increasingly profane anti-Trump rants — which anti-Trump outlets like CNN have been more than happy to broadcast — and his ongoing divorce with Grace Hightower, a suspected Trump supporter who’s been plotting to obtain half of his estimated $500 million fortune.
While the allegations against the actor are shocking, they’re not actually atypical to him. Like fellow anti-Trump Hollywood zealot Alec Baldwin, De Niro has serious anger issues.
Around the start of the year, he suffered a public meltdown after spending all morning in divorce court and was recorded yelling at his driver for not being in the right spot to pick him up.

While the suit isn’t atypical of De Niro, it certainly is more fodder — karmic fodder — for those of the president’s supporters sick of his raging critics’ hypocrisy.
De Niro has spent years trashing the president and accusing him of being every single little thing that a growing body of evidence suggests he, not Trump, actually happens to be.

To be fair to De Niro, the suit against him was a countersuit filed in response to one filed last month by his company, Canal Productions, accusing Robinson of having “enriched herself by charging hundreds of thousands of dollars of personal expenses on a company credit card,” according to the Times.
“Ms. Robinson had spent ‘astronomical’ amounts of time watching television on the company’s Netflix account, including 55 episodes of ‘Friends’ over four days in January. According to that lawsuit, such behavior was common for Ms. Robinson. It said that she ‘loafed’ during work hours, streaming shows like ‘Schitt’s Creek’ and ‘Arrested Development.'”
