Big Brother Kamala: Kick Trump off Twitter to silence him after ‘treason’ tweet

Sen. Kamala Harris wants to silence President Trump because of his “irresponsible” use of words on Twitter.

The California Democrat and 2020 presidential candidate called for the president’s Twitter account to be suspended in light of his comments about the “whistleblower” and for “attacking members of Congress.”

Harris spoke on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” about the use of the social media platform by Trump, who regularly chooses to share his thoughts on Twitter since the mainstream media has repeatedly proven its inability to deliver unbiased reporting on him.

CNN host Anderson Cooper asked Harris about the ability of Congress to protect the whistleblower, whose complaint filed about the president and his phone call in July with the leader of Ukraine has sparked a controversy that has engulfed the government and prompted Democrats to launch an impeachment inquiry.

“Do you believe that this person’s, not just job is in jeopardy, but their very life — are they in jeopardy, physically?” he asked.

“You know, I have to believe that — and I do believe — that the United States Congress, the leaders of the United States Congress, will do everything that is necessary to support and protect the whistleblower,” Harris replied. “The President’s tweets and his behaviors about this are just further evidence of the fact that he uses his power in a way that is designed to beat people down instead of lift people up.”

Trump has maintained the attacks on him have been politically motivated and has taken to Twitter in the last few days to call attention to the Democrats’ “witch hunt” as well as saying he wanted to meet with the whistleblower. On Monday, the president wondered in a tweet if House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s “parody” account of his call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during last week’s House hearing was grounds to be arrested for treason.

A day earlier, Trump had quoted Pastor Robert Jeffress on the impact on the nation if Democrats remove him from office by impeachment.

“Frankly, when you look at what he’s been tweeting today directed at the whistleblower, directed at so many people, you know, I frankly think that based on this and all we’ve seen him do before, including attacking members of Congress, that he, frankly, should be — his Twitter account should be suspended,” Harris declared.

“I think there’s plenty of now evidence to suggest that he is irresponsible with his words in a way that could result in harm to other people. And so the privilege of using those words in that way should probably be taken from him,” she added.

Cooper pressed about the implications and backlash that would result in trying to “silence” the president on social media. Harris doubled down on the government’s Big Brother-like responsibility in policing the president’s words.

“And so what we see continuously, including in the last 24-hours, is a use of his words, Donald Trump using his words in a way that could subject someone to harm,” Harris said. “And if he’s not going to exercise self-restraint, then, perhaps, there should be other mechanisms in place to make sure that his words do not, in fact, harm anyone.”

Actor Rob Schneider blasted the 2020 hopeful for her suggestion.

Harris also slammed Trump as “delusional” for his reference to a “Civil War like fracture” if he is impeached.

“If Donald Trump thinks that this is a moment where he’s actually being held accountable for his failures as president and his failure to uphold the oath to protect the Constitution of the United States and our democracy,” she said, “if he’s equating that with a war that took place between American people over slavery, I mean, it is yet again evidence of the fact that he is delusional in that he has a very outside sense of himself as compared to the history of our country and all that we have been through and all that we are capable of.”

“So, you know, I just think what’s most important is we not indulge his delusions and that we bring him back to reality,” Harris announced. “And I think the impeachment process will do that.”

Twitter users slammed the Democrat for overstepping and suggesting silencing the president because his words “could result in harm to other people.”
