John Brennan calls for more whistleblowers to come forward; Sharyl Attkisson’s quick to respond

Former CIA Director John Brennan may soon regret his outreach to anti-Trump whistleblowers.

And investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson is already looking forward to the clown show that will unfold if federal officials heed the invitation by Brennan to come forward as whistleblowers themselves.

Brennan lauded the anonymous person who filed a whistleblower complaint against President Trump as someone who “deserves our praise and gratitude” in a tweet earlier this week.

A short time later, he called on other potential whistleblowers to come forward and join the dance of the anti-Trump Resistance.

“If you think you were involved in unlawful activity as a result of a directive from Mr. Trump or someone doing his bidding, now is the time to report it,” the MSNBC contributor, who provoked the president into an attempt to revoke his security clearance last year, tweeted.

The nine-page whistleblower complaint filed against Trump over a July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky alleged that the president pressured the foreign leader to investigate actions by former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

The allegations sparked a formal impeachment inquiry launched by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi even before the document was made public and despite questions about the whistleblower’s credibility as the complaint’s author admitted, “I was not a direct witness to most of the events described.”

A veteran CIA official slammed the “blatant politicization of intelligence by Trump haters” and found the complaint very suspicious.

“From my experience, such an extremely polished whistleblowing complaint is unheard of. This document looks as if this leaker had outside help, possibly from congressional members or staff,” Fred Fleitz wrote this week.

Brennan’s tone-deaf call for others to come forward — but only with dirt on Trump — elicited a hearty agreement from Attkisson.

The host of “Full Measure,” who has had her own share of whistleblowers amid allegations that her computer was hacked when she was a CBS News reporter, has leveled Brennan for his inane theatrics on other occasions as well.

The former CIA chief’s tweet sparked reactions from Twitter users amused at the many potential ways his request could backfire on Democrats.
