Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a sitting member of the United States Congress collecting a taxpayer-funded salary, spent part of her workday leading a profane chant against President Trump in front of the White House.
The Michigan lawmaker joined several of her Democratic colleagues on Thursday to speak to pro-impeachment demonstrators gathered on the East Lawn of the Capitol, at one point leading a chant with the controversial call to “impeach the motherf****r.”

The shameful display by Tlaib and other Democrats, including Reps. Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley, came during the pro-impeachment protest which also saw much praise for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her endorsement on Tuesday of the House’s impeachment inquiry.
Tlaib slammed the president in her remarks for putting “profits before our servicemen and women, before schools, before the environment.”
“This isn’t just about corruption,” she said. “This is about our way of life.”
Rep. @RashidaTlaib: Trump puts profits before our servicemen & women, before schools, before the environment. This isn’t just about corruption. This is about our way of life.
We have to do this & send it to the US Senate—allow them to defend this lawless president. #ImpeachNow pic.twitter.com/VukC6imuTu

Tlaib was busy not earning her salary earlier in the day as well, as her campaign launched the sale of “Impeach the MF” t-shirts, highlighting the infamous declaration she shouted after she was sworn into Congress in January: “We’re going to impeach the mother****r!”
Lean in with me to hold this lawless President accountable. Together, we will fight back and protect our democracy.
Our country depends on it!

“Can you imagine the outrage if I had put a t-shirt together like that for impeaching President Obama?” Rep. Bill Huizenga said, according to The Detroit News.
“First of all, my mother would have called me and told me, ‘Shame on you.’ Then I would have heard from my Republican colleagues asking me, ‘What in the world are you doing?’” the Michigan Republican said. “Then I would have to face myself in the mirror and my kids and explain what’s going on, at the same time I’m getting preachy about decorum and how we need civility in politics.”
Thursday’s pro-impeachment protesters at the White House were treated to more elected members of Congress railing against the sitting president.
Omar invoked the Constitution in her rant against Trump’s “abuse” of power.
Rep. @IlhanMN: “If we do not stand for the rule of law today, the consequences will go far behind our borders. So today we are exercising the power of our wonderful Constitution.” #ImpeachNow pic.twitter.com/0vWRuSDTx9

California Rep. Barbara Lee sang the Democrats’ favorite tune, declaring Trump had “betrayed his oath of office.”

And Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington announced that the search for the “smoking gun” was over.

While Tlaib and her colleagues continue to fuel their base and attack the president, stunts like the profane chants and disrespectful t-shirts only seem to drive home the point that it is the left that is disconnected from what America holds valuable.
Just look at the insanity on display

This is by far the most disgraceful thing I have ever seen lead by a Congress person in office @RepRashida in my lifetime! Rashida is a disgusting filthy mouth anti America that needs to be dismissed from office! I despise this grotesque woman! ?TRUMP 2020

Some misguided people elected these profane people. They hide behind religion and then speak like this for all to see.

Members of Congress are now peddling T-Shirts with vulgarity, which is neither appropriate for school, work, the gym or even to answer the door in.
….and that’s how Trump was re-elected.

This kind of vulgarity sets a terrible example for children. And for a Congresswoman to promote it and profit from it is outrageous. #primarychallenge #pottymouthtlaib

I’m pretty sure that here ‘in the real world’ (not protected entitled government officials) if an employee put out a shirt like this about their ‘boss’ (like them or not) they’d be fired quick fast and (appropriately) in a hurry.
