Ukraine president confirms: ‘nobody pushed me’ to probe Biden family

On the heels of Democrats calling for impeachment over a phone call President Donald Trump had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky  where Trump allegedly asked for dirt on Joe Biden, Trump and Zelensky held a joint press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

And the Ukranian president minced no words as he stated emphatically “Nobody pushed me,” into probing the Bidens.

And both Trump and Zelensky made it clear in the press conference that the United States and Ukraine are allies, no matter what Democrats say.

Trump opened the press conference by saying that he and the Ukrainian president have had several phone conversations.

“They’d like to hear every single word and we will give them every single word,” Trump joked. This was only hours after he released the transcript from the Ukraine phone call that inspired a whistleblower complaint and an impeachment inquiry.

After both world leaders vowed to work together to improve Ukraine’s standing in the world, the press was given the opportunity to ask questions and it was no surprise what they wanted to know about.

Asked if Trump pressured him to give dirt on Biden — who has been accused of using his standing as vice president to bring an end to an investigation into a company his son Hunter worked for — President Zelensky waved off the controversy.

“I think you read everything,” Zelensky said, referring to the newly released transcript. He went on to call the phone call “normal” and a “good phone call.”

Zelensky added that he does not “want to be involved in Democratic elections.”

“Nobody pushed me,” Zelensky added about the phone call.

When Trump got the opportunity to address the controversy, he made clear that he believes Joe Biden and his son are guilty of “corruption.” He also believes Biden is very involved in his son’s business dealings in places like China.

Asked about accusations that he pressured Ukrainian officials to give him dirt on Biden, Trump dismissed the assertion.

“There was no pressure and you know there was no pressure,” he said.

On Pelosi launching an impeachment inquiry into the phone call, the president said the speaker of the house “has lost her way” and is now being controlled by far-left Democrats.

“She’s no longer speaker of the house,” he said.

Despite being told again and again there is nothing to Trump’s Ukraine phone call and being given proof that their accusations are empty, Democrats are still barreling forward with this impeachment inquiry. Rudy Giuliani, who is Trump’s personal lawyer, has theorized that the focus on the phone call is a way for Democrats to distract from the corruption by top officials in the Obama administration, mainly Biden and Hillary Clinton.

“Democrat party is covering up a pattern of corruption involving high level members of the Obama cabinet. The multi-million and billion dollar pay-for-play is mind boggling. Biden Family sale of office to Ukraine was not the only one or the most egregious. Slimy Joe is not alone,” he tweeted on Wednesday morning.

This is backed up by the fact that the whistleblower reportedly just hired a legal team that includes a Democrat lawyer who interned for both Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton in 2001.
