The Democratic Party has had the horse in front of the cart all along in their quest to impeach President Donald Trump, and now House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has finally been convinced/cajoled to go along over what may be the weakest reasoning yet.
The investigation of Trump began before he even took office and the effort picked up considerable steam after former special counsel Robert Mueller failed to produce the goods on the president. House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., led the way, insisting his panel was engaged in an impeachment investigation, even though there has been no formal vote in the House to authorize the probe.
On the day Pelosi set off a media firestorm by announcing a formal inquiry was underway, Rep. Lance Gooden, R-Texas, introduced a resolution calling for Nadler to be removed as the chairman of the Judiciary Committee for pursuing impeachment proceedings against Trump, Fox News reported.
Gooden charged in a release that Nadler acted against the will of the House, which never gave his committee explicit authorization to begin impeachment proceedings, according to Fox News — a House vote to table an impeachment resolution passed 332-95 in July.
“This attempted coup against a duly-elected, sitting president is unprecedented and must be stopped,” Gooden said. “I urge the majority to move immediately to have him stripped of his chairmanship and that any accomplices on the Judiciary Committee not be considered as a replacement.”
With Democrats claiming the president’s actions defy the law, Gooden said Nadler is the one breaking the law.
“In recent days, Democrats have sanctimoniously declared their allegiance to the rule of law,” he added. “I encourage them to follow those rules and hold Chairman Nadler accountable for breaking them.”
“By law, he may not launch impeachment proceedings until the full House votes for him to do so,” Gooden continued. “This attempted coup against a duly-elected, sitting president is unprecedented and must be stopped.”
Taking to Twitter, Gooden said he is “fed up” with the game playing from Democrats.
“House Democrats like Jerry Nadler have jumped the shark over and over again. I’m fed up with Democrat obstructionism and game playing. That’s why today I filed a House Resolution to remove Rep. Nadler as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee,” the lawmaker tweeted, linking to a local story.

Granted, with Democrats controlling the House, the Republican lawmaker’s effort is not going anywhere.
On Tuesday, Pelosi announced in response to media reports of a whistleblower, who may not have firsthand knowledge, claiming Trump pressured Ukraine’s president to investigate the Biden family, that the Democrat-led House was now moving forward with an impeachment inquiry.
Pelosi said, in part: “The actions of the Trump presidency revealed the dishonorable fact of the president’s betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security, and betrayal of the integrity of our elections. Therefore, today I am announcing that the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry.”
Again, no formal impeachment vote has been taken in the lower chamber, which is to suggest that this is more game-playing by the speaker, to placate the radical left-wing of the Democratic Party and prolong the cloud of impeachment hanging over Trump’s head.
Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale was confident that the partisan effort to remove a duly-elected president will aid in Trump’s reelection.
“Democrats can’t beat President Trump on his policies or stellar record of accomplishments, so they’re trying to turn a Joe Biden scandal into a Trump problem,” Parscale said in a statement. “The misguided Democratic impeachment strategy is meant to appease their rabid, extreme, leftist base, but will only serve to embolden and energize President Trump’s supporters and create a landslide victory for the president.”
President Trump may have pulled the rug from under Democrats hoping to impeach him, announcing after Pelosi’s grandstanding that he has authorized the release of the transcripts of the call he had with the Ukrainian president, which is at the center of the latest impeachment controversy — the transcripts are expected to be released on Wednesday.
