‘Morning Joe’ slaps Kamala over NYT Kavanaugh brouhaha

MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough called out Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., who has declared that all who claim to be victims of sexual misconduct must be believed, without due process.

Keeping in mind that the 2020 presidential candidate is a former prosecutor.

Scarborough’s assessment was in reaction to a “botched” New York Times article on new allegations of sexually inappropriate behavior by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

The Times published an essay Sunday based on a forthcoming book by two of its reporters that detailed a previously unreported claim of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh some 35 years ago — the woman at the center of the allegation declined to be interviewed and her friends said she did not recall the incident described.

“I heard Kamala Harris say we have to believe the victims. Of course, first of all, as a prosecutor, she really should put ‘an alleged’ in front of the word ‘victims,’ especially in the case of The New York Times’ essay,” Scarborough said. “The baffling essay, the baffling editing process that they put forward. Because if you believed the alleged victim in the alleged incident — the alleged victim in the alleged incident doesn’t even remember the alleged incident occurring.”

“So if Kamala Harris is believing the, quote, victim, the alleged victim, the alleged victim says, ‘I don’t ever remember that happening,’ according to friends. So I’m just — again, for a lawyer, I’m confused,” he continued.

After noting that Beto O’Rourke claimed Kavanaugh lied under oath, Scarborough went back at the Times.

“Even the most liberal of liberals are scratching their heads at how badly ‘The New York Times’ botched that,” he said.

MSNBC contributor Mike Barnicle then offered a brutal summary for Democrats.

“There are really only three things that are quite clear in this story,” he said. “One, as you’ve just pointed out, the alleged victim has no memory of the alleged charge against Judge Kavanaugh, then an 18-year-old and 19-year-old student.”

“The second thing that’s pretty clear is that, you know, this call for impeachment of everything is a drain on the Democrats’ campaigns,” Barnicle added. “And thirdly, it’s pretty clear, the third element is, that [Sen.] Dick Durbin might be the only Democrat who goes home and listens to people during the weekend.”

The more extreme elements of the Democratic Party are calling for Kavanaugh to be impeached over the unverified allegation.

Elsie Jordan, a former aide in George W. Bush’s administration, sarcastically noted that the impeachment of Kavanaugh is the culture war Democrats need to pursue.

“You look at ‘The New York Times’ opinion essay that came out over the weekend and it’s just staggering and confusing that if a woman is an alleged victim and yet she says she is not a victim, a man is still allowed to speak on her behalf as to her so-called victimhood?” she said.

“This is all just madness. It makes no sense,” Jordan insisted, adding that “we need to look at the facts.”

She pointed out a part of the book that’s getting little attention is a witness who was supposed to be with Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who came forward during Kavanaugh’s confirmation process to say he sexually abused her, questioned the alleged incident.
