NRA sues San Francisco for designating it a ‘domestic terrorist organization’

The National Rifle Association sued San Francisco after the city’s board of supervisors designated the NRA a “domestic terrorist organization.”

In the federal lawsuit filed in California, the NRA accused city officials of violating the gun lobby’s free speech rights and trying to blacklist anyone linked to the NRA.

The NRA said the court “must step in to instruct elected officials that freedom of speech means you cannot silence or punish those with whom you disagree.”

The group noted: “The NRA’s nearly five million members include countless military veterans, first responders, and law enforcement officers who have risked everything to protect Americans from terrorism. Therefore, the Resolution’s ‘terrorist’ designation is a frivolous insult — but San Francisco’s actions pose a non-frivolous constitutional threat.”

Last week, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution calling the NRA a “domestic terrorist organization.”

William A. Brewer, the NRA’s lawyer, called the action “an assault on all advocacy organizations across the country. Fortunately, the NRA — like all U.S. citizens — is protected by the First Amendment.”

Catherine Stefani, the supervisor of San Francisco’s board of supervisors, told Fox affiliate KTVU that “I will do everything I possibly can to call them out on what they are, which is a domestic terrorist organization.”

“The NRA exists to spread disinformation, and knowingly puts guns into the hands of those who would harm and terrorize us,” she added.

While many liberals blame the NRA for mass shootings, no mass shooter in U.S. history has ever been a member of the NRA.

In 2018, radio host Dana Loesch accused the media of exploiting such tragedies because they’re ratings cash cows. At the time, Loesch was a rep for the NRA. She is no longer with the NRA, but remains a staunch Second Amendment advocate.

“I’m going to say something that some people are going to say is ‘controversial,’” Loesch said. “Many in legacy media love mass shootings. You guys love it! I’m not saying you love the tragedy. But I am saying that you love the ratings.”

Loesch added: “Crying white mothers are ratings gold to you. And notice I said ‘crying white mothers’ because there are thousands of grieving black mothers in Chicago every weekend, and you don’t see town halls for them, do you? Where’s the CNN town hall for Chicago? Where’s the CNN town hall for sanctuary cities?”

Loesch was referring to the steady stream of daily shootings in Chicago, which has among the toughest gun-control laws in the United States.

Chicago has had a Democrat mayor since 1931. During that time, violent crime has skyrocketed.

6 people were killed and 28 injured in Chicago weekend shootings from Sept. 6-8. Where’s the left-wing outrage?

Loesch underscored that she will never give up her guns because she doesn’t trust the government to protect her.

“I wanna make the super-obvious point: The government has proven they cannot keep you safe, and yet some people want all of us to disarm,” Loesch said.

Dana Loesch reminded conservatives to stand their ground and fight for what they believe, because they are on the right side of history.

“We are conservatives. We have the superior product,” Loesch said. “We don’t have to rationalize why we believe what we believe. We don’t need platitudes and ‘red meat’ because we have the proven superior product.”
