Faculty members at Kansas U call on school to boot Chick-fil-A from campus

It was recently reported that Chick-fil-A is now the third-largest restaurant chain in America, trailing only McDonald’s and Starbucks, and there’s a legitimate argument that intolerant liberals helped propel the company into the top three.

And progressives seem determined to push them all the way to the very top, it seems.

Faculty members at the University of Kansas are calling on the school to remove an on-campus Chick-fil-A for being a “bastion of bigotry,” according to a letter that was sent to school administrators.

Claiming that the restaurant chain violates “safety and inclusion,” the faculty council reacted with “extreme frustration” to a Chick-fil-A being relocated to prime real estate on campus.

Even worse, the liberals took offense to the Kansas Jayhawks football team starting each home game with a “Chick-fil-A Coin Toss.”

“The culture of Chick-fil-A fosters hate and discrimination on multiple levels,” the Sexuality & Gender Diversity Faculty and Staff Council wrote in a two-page letter.

“Moving Chick-Fil-A to the Union and granting it a role at the start of all home football games violates the feelings of safety and inclusion that so many of us have striven to create, foster, and protect on campus,” the letter added, “and sends a message that the Union, KU Athletics, and the administration at large are more concerned about money and corporate sponsorship than the physical, emotional, and mental well being of marginalized and LGBTQ people.”

And you still doubt that college campuses in America are little more than liberal indoctrination centers?

Chick-fil-A, with nearly 2,400 stores, recorded a whopping $10.46 billion in sales in 2018 and, for the fourth consecutive year, was named America’s favorite restaurant based on customer satisfaction.

This being in part because of great food, but also because of the chain’s impeccable customer service training.

All of which falls on deaf ears on the left, who still go after Chick-fil-A because of the company’s late founder S. Truett Cathy’s Christian beliefs — his crimes being that he publicly supported traditional marriage and donated to Christian organizations like the Salvation Army.

The Kansas faculty council is calling on the university to “rectify the situation” by “promoting inclusion and equity instead of hatred and intolerance.”

Their definition of “inclusion and equality” is to discriminate against Chick-fil-A by excluding them — the hypocrisy of their words and actions being so ridiculous you couldn’t make it up.

“At the very least, we demand a guarantee from the Chancellor, KU Athletics, and the Provost that these contracts will not be renewed once expired,” the council said.

In addition to saying they will boycott the restaurant, the faculty members called on the school to “find a replacement vendor.”

“In the meantime, we will urge our members and allies to speak with our dollars as well as our words, and boycott the restaurant. We look forward to educating the larger KU community about Chick-fil-A and working with KU to find a replacement vendor that better reflects our KU values,” the letter concluded.
