Ben Rhodes’ defense of AOC and her climate crusade backfires bigtime

Climate change alarmism would be easier to take seriously if the people pushing it weren’t such hypocrites.

Ben Rhodes, a former Obama White House staffer and current political commentator, came to the defense of global warming fear-monger Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but the whole thing backfired thanks to Rhodes’ former boss’ recent lavish, and hypocritical, purchase.

“Coastal cities will be underwater due to climate change, and we face many deaths if we don’t spend trillions of dollars to address it,” Rhodes tweeted. The tweet was in response to a spoof from the Media Research Center mocking AOC for stating people in coastal cities ‘face death’ due to climate change.

Sean Davis, the co-founder of The Federalist, was one of many who responded to Rhodes by bringing up the obvious fact that if coastal cities really will be gobbled up thanks to climate change, then former President Barack Obama will be in trouble thanks to his recent Martha’s Vineyard purchase.

“Speaking of these coastal cities which will all be underwater soon, didn’t your former boss just spend $15 million on a waterfront mansion on Martha’s Vineyard? He must use a different apocalyptic doomsday weather app,” Davis tweeted.

It’s this sort of hypocrisy that ruins the arguments of global warming alarmists. Obama was big on talking up global warming, but he seems to be pretty laid-back about it now that he’s out of office and sitting on top of millions of dollars.

And just how “worried” are leftists about global warming? AOC claims we literally have 12 years left to live, and global warming will lead to ancient diseases taking us out.

In light of the context of AOC’s actual extremism and Rhodes’ former boss’ casual attitude towards climate change, Rhodes’ tweet didn’t exactly inspire the best reactions.

“BHO may be a demagogue, the worst president, etc., but he’s not stupid. He knows very well that #ClimateChangeHoax is just that. A hoax to enable government control over everything in our lives. I’m sure he’s still getting around in a massive, retrofitted Suburban & pvt jets,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another responded, “You don’t think Ben Rhodes’ BA in Poli Sci and MFA in creative writing qualifies him as an expert on climate science?!”

“Only us mere peasants have to change our lives for climate change! The elite on the other hand can keep living their hypocritical life! So over their BS! They are the ones that leave the biggest carbon footprint. Is that the proper wording for that nonsense?” added another user.

Another wrote, “With multiple homes in various locations around country, will Obama take a train across country to access them? Nah, ozone belching private jet more likely. #Fraud.”

“Every single time I see a BR tweet, I look for the nearest hammer so I can pound more nails into my head. My god, I cannot believe the influence he once had,” tweeted another.
