Rep. Tlaib: bombing death of Jewish girl due to ‘Israeli occupation’

Controversial Representative Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., on Friday tweeted a head-scratcher about the death of 17-year-old Jewish Israeli girl named Rina Shnerb.

While she initially decried the incident as “absolutely tragic & horrible,” she immediately linked the attack to “Israeli occupation.”

Critics on Twitter were quick to call out the congresswoman for her tone-deaf response.

The Israeli military is investigating the incident — a bomb blast that occurred while Shnerb hiked with her family near the Dolev settlement — as a terror attack, according to Daily Mail.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh praised the death of the teen, though the terror organization has not claimed responsibility.

Rabbi David Eitan, 46, and 21-year-old Dvir — Rina’s father and brother, respectively — were confirmed to have been involved in the blast as well and are both reported to be in serious condition.

The slain teen’s sister spoke at her funeral, which was attended by a large crowd of mourners. “This is insane, everything that’s happening here,” she said. “I still can’t believe it. Only yesterday you were here, joyful as always, you were happy and made everyone happy, as you always do.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent his condolences to the family while also issuing a serious warning to terrorists who seen to injure and/or kill Israelis, saying: “The long arm of Israel reaches all those who seek our lives. We will continue to strengthen settlement. We will deepen our roots and strike at our enemies.”
