Convinced that they are morally right to oppose President Donald Trump, Democrats see few boundaries when it comes to resisting the president — an unhinged reality that even makes joking about an assassination acceptable to some.
Photos of supporters at a fundraising event for Democratic Illinois state Sen. Martin Sandoval feigning an assassination of the president were shared on Twitter by WCIA capital bureau chief Mark Maxwell.
“A political fundraiser for @SenatorSandoval simulates an assassination attempt against a mock @realDonaldTrump decked out in Mexican garb. Looks like a man pointed a fake assault weapon at the fake President to pose for a picture,” Maxwell tweeted.

Several photos where posted on Facebook by a woman attending the fundraiser that required a minimum donation of $250 to attend, Maxwell reported. The senator was tagged in the post.
It’s not clear if Sandoval, who represents parts of Chicago, was aware of the incident, but he is seen in a separate photo posing with the man who held the fake weapon.
After intense backlash, Sandoval, who was identified as “a powerful state lawmaker who chairs the Senate Transportation Committee,” scrambled to apologize.
“The incident that took place is unacceptable. I don’t condone violence toward the president or anyone else. I apologize that something like this happened at my event,” Sandoval said, according to WCIA.
For more than one person, the incident called to mind the rodeo clown who got fired in 2013 for wearing an Obama mask.
That story dominated the national news cycle for days on end, though, and for some odd reason, we don’t expect the same to happen here:

With Democrats and their media allies rushing to blame Trump’s rhetoric for the El Paso shooting that took 22 lives, Illinois Republican Party Chairman Tim Schneider is calling for the person in the photo to be fired if they are affiliated with Sandoval’s campaign.
“The apology from Sen. Sandoval for the detestable pictures from his event depicting an assassination of President Trump is too little, too late,” a Schneider spokesman said, according to WCIA. “Dangerous imagery like this will be condemned and seen as inappropriate by people of sound mind; however, a mentally unstable individual who wants to harm President Trump might find them as an inspiration. It’s inexcusable for an elected official to allow the promotion of violence in any way. If the individual pictured is a staffer or volunteer, they should be terminated immediately.”
The photos did not escape the notice of the White House, as Kellyanne Conway, who serves as counselor to the president, commented on Twitter.

For social media users, the Democratic Party has truly become the party of violence — their hypocrisy on full display every time they allegedly denounce it.
