Citing where the “energy” is coming from in the Democrat Party, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is more confident than ever that President Donald Trump will be reelected in 2020.
Graham appeared on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” to say Democrats have moved so far left that the American people will side with Trump and the Republican Party when making a comparison.
“I think all of the energy in the Democratic Party is with Bernie [Sanders] and Elizabeth Warren and the squad,” he told anchor Maria Bartiromo. “I think the squad represents the heart and soul of the modern Democratic Party on domestic policy and foreign policy.”
The “squad” being the four radical freshman lawmakers: Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA).

“I saw the polls,” Graham said. “I’ve never been more confident of President Trump being reelected than I am right now. ”
It was an assessment he chalked up to the contrast between what each party represents.
“Because when you get on the stage whether it is Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders, look at the contrast,” Graham said.Â
“They want to basically take your private healthcare away and give illegal immigrants free healthcare,” the senator continued, repeating for emphasis that Democrats want to take away your private health care. “They want high taxes, we want low taxes. They are going to gut the military, they are going to pack the courts with a bunch of liberal judges. When it comes to foreign policy President Trump has destroyed ISIS.”
He went on to say that Trump has proven to be the “opposite of Obama” in the Middle East, suggesting that Democrats don’t have much of a chance in 2020,
“The president will clean their clock on the stage,” Graham said. “When you compare what he has done with what they are going to do, weak versus strong foreign policy, high taxes versus lower taxes, health care taken away from working people to be given to illegal immigrants. He is going to win. I don’t care what the polls say because the Democratic Party is so much in a left ditch.”
Bartiromo chimed in to note that the polls show every leading Democratic candidate beating President Trump in head-to-head match ups, asking Graham if he’s buying this.
Graham responded to say he is not, especially if Trump can come up with a bipartisan solution to help keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people that the average American supports, and do something to address infrastructure challenges.
“But here’s the deal,” he said. “When you compare what he has done and what he will do with what they will do, I will make a prediction on your show: I do not think any Democrat can beat the president of the United States who openly advocates decriminalizing illegal entry into our country and giving illegal immigrants free healthcare. That is so far out of the mainstream, you cannot win with that agenda.”
“And if you take peoples private healthcare insurance in the name of Medicare for all, you’re going to lose a lot of votes,” he added.
Asked about Israel banning Omar and Tlaib, Graham stressed that there’s bipartisan support for Israel, saying their enemies are frequently people who also want to do harm to the U.S. He also said the economic boycott that Tlaib and Omar are openly calling for would “destroy the state of Israel.”
“The reason she is not visiting her grandmother is because she has embraced the destruction of Israel through an economic boycott,” he said. “ She was offered a chance to see her grandmother. She said, ‘All I want to do is see my grandmother.’ They said yes and she pulled the rug out from under the offer.”
“The bottom line here is, they are radical when it comes to Israel, radical in the economy, they are weak when it comes to fighting terrorism,” he continued. “Donald Trump is going to win the election because he’s been a damn good president and what they’re trying to do is make America a socialist country.”
