President Donald Trump cut Bill Maher down to size after the diminutive left-wing comedian repeatedly trashed him on Twitter.
The brouhaha erupted after Maher claimed that several survivors of last week’s mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, refused to meet with the president when he visited the city last week.
“Amazing to think a president of the United States could visit a hospital in El Paso and none of the 8 patients wanted to meet him. All were asked. All said, ‘el paso,'” Maher tweeted.
The leftist comedian also said on his HBO show “Real Time with Bill Maher” that Trump would soon take a “well-earned two-week vacation.” But Maher joked that you can’t tell the difference between when Trump is working and when he’s on vacation.
“They want you to know president will be available at all times if there is an emergency that needs to be made worse,” joked Maher.

President Trump responded by saying that “wacko comedian Bill Maher” spouts “so many lies. He said patients in El Paso hospital didn’t want to meet with me. Wrong! Had really great meetings with numerous patients.”
Trump also clapped back at Maher’s suggestion that he was constantly on vacation. Maher discredited himself with that crack, since even Trump’s enemies concede that he works around-the-clock.
“Working almost all of the time, including evenings. Don’t have to be in W.H. to do that…And sooo many other false statements,” Trump said in response to Maher.
However, the president said Maher was right about one thing: Maher has said that Trump will easily win re-election unless the economy crashes.
“He is right about one thing, though. I will win again in 2020. Otherwise, he pays 95% in taxes!” Trump tweeted.

Just to underscore that today’s left does not put America first, Maher said on August 9 that he’s rooting for an economic recession because it would ruin Trump’s chances at reelection.
“We have survived many recessions,” Maher said on his HBO show. “We can’t survive another Donald Trump term.”

Maher was doubling-down on a similar statement he had made just days earlier. “I’ve been hoping for a recession,” he said. “People hate me for it, but it would get rid of Trump.”
One of his guests disagreed, saying, “Recessions are really bad! People lose their jobs and homes and we shouldn’t wish for it.”
Maher, a multi-millionaire, cavalierly quipped: “I know. It’s worth it.”
That’s easy for Maher to say since he’s rich. It won’t be that easy for many Americans to weather a recession.

Bill Maher has been desperately hoping for a US recession for the past year. In June 2018, he said he wishes the economy would crash and people would lose their jobs — just to get rid of President Trump.
This is not only totally insensitive and arrogant, but underscores the depths of Maher’s pathological Trump Derangement Syndrome. Remember: If the president fails, then America fails. Duh.
“A recession is a survivable event. What Trump is doing to this country is not. Democracy is about to go the way of the dinosaurs because we’ve been taken over by a dodo bird. So let me repeat: A recession is a survivable event,” Maher said.

He continued, “The United States has survived 47 recessions in all. Since the Great Depression, we’ve never gone more than 10 years without one.”
Maher is correct that recessions are cyclical. Frankly, the United States has been due for one for a while. However, since President Trump took office, the economy has rocketed and unemployment has cratered to historic lows.
