The left-wing boycotts of fitness chains SoulCycle and Equinox backfired bigly after the Hamptons fundraiser hosted by the chains’ owner, Stephen Ross, raked in $12 million yesterday — $2 million more than expected.
And that’s all thanks to the extra media attention caused by leftists’ disingenuous boycotts of luxury gyms that most were never members of to begin with.
GOP chair Ronna McDaniel excitedly announced the news on Twitter: “Thanks to the unhinged mob on the left, Donald Trump raised $12 million today — $2 million more than originally expected.”
That’s $12 million in one night. If money talks and BS walks, think about what that says about the support Trump enjoys among his backers.
Thanks to the unhinged mob on the left, @realDonaldTrump raised $12M today, $2M more than originally expected.
The support for our President is unprecedented and growing!

As BizPac Review reported, left-wings mobs launched a failed boycott of fitness chains SoulCycle and Equinox amid revelations that billionaire Stephen Ross — who owns the holding company for both brands — was hosting a fundraiser for Trump on August 9 at his Hamptons mansion.
Ross, a left-leaning real estate developer, has been friends with President Trump for 40 years. Ross — whose net worth tops $7.7 billion — is also the owner of the Miami Dolphins football team.
Amid the controversy and leftist boycotts, Ross stood by his longtime friend and issued this statement:
“I have known Donald Trump for 40 years, and while we agree on some issues, we strongly disagree on many others and I have never been bashful about expressing my opinions. I started my business with nothing. And a reason for my engagement with our leaders is my deep concern for creating jobs and growing our country’s economy.”
At Ross’ Hamptons fundraiser, some guests paid $100,000 to meet and pose for a photo with President Trump. Others shelled out $250,000 to participate in a round table discussion with him.

When asked about the boycotts of SoulCycle and Equinox, President Trump joked to reporters that the media-fomented controversy will only make Stephen Ross and his luxury brands even more popular.
“Stephen Ross is a great friend of mine. He’s probably more inclined to be a liberal, if you want to know the truth. But he likes me, he respects me. The controversy makes Steve Ross hotter. He’ll figure that out in about a week.”
Of course, the media-fomented outrage over Ross’ support for President Trump is laughable, since everyone knows that wealthy business owners often donate to both Democrats and Republicans as a way to “cover all their bases.”
It’s the same with mega-corporations: Many donate to both liberal and conservative lawmakers to grease the wheels of Congress. When Donald Trump was a businessman, he did the same thing: He donated to both Democrats and Republicans. Whether you like it or not, that’s how things work in politics and business.
In 2016, Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign hosted a fundraiser at SoulCycle that showcased Chelsea Clinton. That SoulCycle fundraiser was remarkable only because it bombed so badly.
The $2,700-a-head fundraiser initially offered 60 seats, but the event failed to sell out. A rep said the fundraiser only raised $75,000 — that’s just 28 seats at full price.
Meanwhile, here’s what some on Twitter had to say about the Left’s failed boycotts, and their constant whiny attempts to emotionally blackmail you into thinking how they want you to think.

Conservatives: “Trump won because coastal elites were completely out of touch with the lives of middle America”
Liberals: “I’m boycotting my Soul-cycle and Equinox classes to show that I hate Trump”
