While claiming the Trump campaign had taken former Vice President Joe Biden’s comments out of context on Friday, NBC reporter Andrea Mitchell took the Trump team’s comments out of context. In fact, while charging Trump campaign Rapid Response director Andrew Clark with editing Biden’s speech, the reporter used the very same video clip that Clark had tweeted out.

“Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids,” Biden said to a crowd at the Iowa State Fair.

Mainstream media outlets such as CBS and ABC once again failed to report on Biden’s blunder, but Mitchell did in order to twist the episode into a criticism of Trump, while also covering for Biden saying that his stumble occurred “after a long day and night at the Iowa State Fair.”

“Joe Biden— is now facing a Trump campaign counterattack,” Mitchell reported, “seizing on a few words on the campaign trail.”

“Democratic front runner Joe Biden has been unleashing scorching attacks against President Trump this week on race,” Mitchell continued. “The former Vice President accusing the President of being a racist who emboldens white supremacists by aligning himself with their cause. But it’s Biden’s bungling of his own remarks that’s making headlines this morning, after a long day and night at the Iowa State Fair, speaking to a group of predominantly Asian and Hispanic voters.

“The Trump campaign quickly seizing on just the white kids comment. Rapid Response director Andrew Clark tweeting out a video clip that notably did not include the full remarks. Writing, ‘Yikes. Have fun mitigating that one.'”

Mitchell went on to show another clip of an exchange between a Breitbart reporter and Biden in which the 2020 candidate repeats the false claim that Trump was quoted as supporting Charlottesville racists, while in fact the President’s comments were taken out of context by the media.

“It comes after this confrontation between Biden and a reporter from conservative outlet Breitbart,” Mitchell said in her report. “Biden fighting back after the reporter claimed, incorrectly, Biden had misquoted the President after Charlottesville.”

The clip from that encounter showed the Breitbart reporter saying, “But he says specifically that he was condemning them.”

“No, he did not,” Biden said. “He said he walked out and he said, let’s get this straight, he said there are very fine people in both groups. They’re chanting anti-Semitic slogans, carrying flags — ”

It’s incredibly ironic that Mitchell’s report claiming the Trump campaign was taking Biden’s words out of context included the terribly wrong, oft-repeated claims about Trump’s comments two years ago that edited out the context in which he was criticizing the violent racists who were in Charlottesville.

Biden is living up to his previously well-earned reputation during the 2020 campaign for verbal lapses and confusion, including many awkward, racially charged remarks.

As an example, when Barack Obama was running for President, Biden said that Obama was “clean” and “articulate.”
