Hollywood gets taste of own meds; ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star labeled ‘racist’ for criticizing Kamala Harris

Members of Hollywood are slowly but surely beginning to learn the hard way that delving into identity politics invariably leads to disastrous self-consequences.

Take “Gray’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo, who lectured her fellow white people last November on racism, so-called “inclusivity,” so-called “diversity” and blah, blah, blah. Only nine months later, guess who’s now being lectured to about racism and blah, blah, blah. Pompeo herself.

The lectures began late Wednesday evening after she dared to post a tweet critical of Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris, whose performance earlier that night at the second Democrat presidential primary debate has, for the record, been widely panned.

Responding to a Bloomberg report about how Harris had spent the whole debate targeting Biden, Pompeo opined that the 2020 contender is “overconfident” because she “believes he is her only competition.” And so she isn’t taking her other challengers seriously, including fellow candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who for the record pummeled her into the ground during the debate.

But God forbid a white woman — or really any non-black person, period — refer to Harris, a black woman, with the apparently evil, malicious adjective “overconfident.” How racist!

And God forbid someone — literally anyone on Earth — refer to any woman as “overconfident.” THIS is what real sexism looks and sounds like, or so say the actress’s identitarian critics.

Check out the stunning criticism below:

They really believe this stuff too. Why? Because they’re identitarians, i.e., people who place physical attributes (namely skin color and gender) over all other concerns and facts.

Identitarians are comprised of everybody from white supremacists to black nationalists, intersectional feminists, social justice warriors and cultural Marxists.

While it’s unclear which type of identitarian Pompeo’s critics happen to be, it’s clear they only see race and gender, ergo their inability to recognize that the actress’s tweet had nothing to do with race or gender. It was criticism, pure and simply, aimed at Harris’s demonstrably poor performance. Even someone at CNN — the arguably most identitarian news network in America — has called he performance “terrible.”

What makes all the criticism being lobbed Pompeo’s way so ironic is that she too is an identitarian — one who has long claimed that Hollywood lacks so-called “diversity.”

“When Porter magazine recently assembled a group of high profile TV actresses to discuss representation in Hollywood for its ‘Women in Television’ issue, they likely didn’t expect to become part of the story,” Vox reported last November.

“But Ellen Pompeo, TV’s highest-paid actress and star of Grey’s Anatomy, turned the tables as she made a larger point about diversity in Hollywood and the role white people play in it.”

Listen:

“This day has been incredible,” she said. “And there’s a ton of women in the room. But I don’t see enough color. And I didn’t see enough color when I walked in the room today. “… I think it’s up to all productions to make sure that your crew looks like the world we see.”

Like other identitarians, she sees the world in terms of race. And so she takes issue with production crews and film casts being based on merit. To the average identitarian, the world would be a more just, fair and “diverse” place if racial quotas were implemented instead.

And well, it’s this exact same mindset that’s led some people — 32 percent of Democrats, according to a recent Rasmussen survey — to believe that it’s racist for a white person to criticize a political figure of so-called “color” like, say, Kamala Harris.

What Pompeo seemingly didn’t realize when she began delving into identity politics is that the rules apply to everybody, including so-called “allies” like her who enjoy lecturing her fellow white people about their alleged racism.

And judging by her responses to the criticism she’s been receiving, she still hasn’t grasped this:

Race always matters to identitarians.

Conversely, what your words actually mean never matter to them.

Sorry, but no …

You aren’t allowed to “feel [or think] anyway you want” in the world of identity politics, Miss Pompeo. And given how long you’ve been delving into identity politics, you should have already known that.
