MSNBC host accuses Trump of ‘clearly’ running a ‘racist re-election campaign’

MSNBC did nothing to mask its blatant bias as a liberal host spewed inflammatory rhetoric about President Trump during a segment Monday.

MSNBC host John Heilemann slammed Trump as a “racist” as he filled in for “Deadline: White House” host Nicolle Wallace, dramatically telling viewers that the president “intends to run a racist reelection campaign.”

Heilemann focused on Trump’s ongoing feud with Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., claiming the “evidence” of the president’s racism has been “overwhelming” but his tweets on Baltimore this weekend confirmed the fact.

“The evidence to the assertion that Donald Trump, America’s president, is in fact a racist president, has been overwhelming for some time. But what happened this weekend and continued today advanced the story to a new place,” he began the segment Monday.

“A racist president is now openly, nakedly, and brazenly telling us he intends to run a racist reelection campaign,”  Heilemann said, noting the president’s “15-part Twitter attack” on Cummings.

The president’s fiery rebuke of Cummings and the deplorable conditions in his Maryland district sparked a meltdown from the left even as it focused much-needed attention on Baltimore’s shameful conditions under decades of Democratic leadership.

“Although we want to avoid amplifying Trump’s racist messages by repeating them here,” a sanctimonious Heilemann continued, “we’re also facing the reality that we’re going to be dealing with presidential racism for the next 15 months.”

He asserted that there have been “few signs” that the president will be held “accountable” by members of his own party, so it is “our job to call out the racism.”

Heilemann melodramatically recounted Trump’s “tirade” from the weekend which “makes use of one of the racist tropes Trump evokes with appalling frequency.”

Reading the president’s initial tweet, the liberal host claimed his words were very clearly “racist.”

“That, my friends, is a racist message,” Heilemann said smugly, reaching even further into the cosmos for his hot take. “It is racist to link minorities to disease and filth and crime, especially when it’s part of a pattern.”

Citing a “small sampling” of comments from the president, Heilemann slammed Trump’s “racist” remarks about the district of Rep John Lewis, D-Ga., and calling out sanctuary cities and inner cities as “crime-infested.”

“All that was and is racist, clearly so,” he continued, declaring that the White House’s dismissal of criticism of Trump’s comments is just “B.S.”

After showing a video clip from an interview he had with Cummings following Trump’s 2016 election victory, Heilemann turned to his panel of guests – which included controversial anti-Trump critic, Al Sharpton who was just called out by the president as “a con man, a troublemaker, always looking for a score.”

Between Trump’s attacks on the “squad” of freshman Democratic congresswomen and now his attack on Cummings, Heilemann was stumped.

“I just don’t understand other than putting out a press release from the Trump reelect saying ‘We are running a racist re-election campaign,’ I don’t know how much clearer it can be,” he said.

The MSNBC host’s political theatrics may have played well for its few viewers but others were more than clear about what they thought of Heilemann’s hysteria.
