Meanwhile, over at MSNBC … Trump’s Cummings tweets could lead to ‘horrible civil war’

There have been some fairly ridiculous reactions from leftists to President Donald Trump’s tweets criticizing Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), but the worst of them may have been made on Monday “Morning Joe.”

Karine Jean-Pierre, the chief public affairs officer for MoveOn.org, suggested in an interview on the MSNBC show that Trump’s comments about Cummings could lead to some sort of a horrible civil war.”

Jean-Pierre also said the president is criticizing Cummings because he is jealous of the Maryland congressman. She theorized that Trump is “threatened by Cummings,” and that’s where his “toxic” comments are coming from.

“Donald Trump put his hand on the Bible — technically two Bibles — and took the oath of the presidency to be a president for all of us,” she said. “And since that day, since that moment, every hour, he seems to just prove that to be wrong. He is not a president for black people. He’s not a president for women. He’s not a president for brown people. He’s not a president for the LGBTQ community. He chooses to just double down and triple down on bigotry and racism.”

Jean-Pierre said the president is threatening the United States’ “young democracy” and she predicted that his rhetoric will continue into the election year.

“I don’t know where Donald Trump wants to take this, but wherever it is, it’s going to be dangerous,” she said.

She then made her ridiculous prediction about a possible “civil war.”

“It could lead to some sort of horrible civil war. He is testing us. He’s testing the democracy. He’s shredding the Constitution. And so, Republicans, the leadership in the Republican Party, need to stand up. You have to speak up. Because if you don’t, you are encouraging this. You are picking Donald Trump, loyalty to Donald Trump, instead of to the country,” she said.

The tweet leftists seem to be clinging to in order to make their weak “Trump is racist” arguments is one of the first tweets the president issued about Cummings over the weekend.

“Cumming[s’] District is a disgusting, rat and rodent-infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place,” Trump tweeted on Saturday.

There is nothing factually incorrect in the president’s tweet, which Trump and others have tried to argue through firsthand reports from Baltimore and highlights of Cummings’ ridiculous behavior during House hearings on the border while his congressional district suffers.

The “civil war” comment inspired plenty of amused reactions from conservatives on Twitter:

The rhetoric of the left is out of control at this point. They’re blasting a man as racist for saying essentially the same thing leftists like Bernie Sanders have said in the past, and they are talking about Trump shredding the Constitution and possibly starting a civil war with absolutely zero facts to back those statements up. It’s frightening at this point that Trump Derangement Syndrome has gotten so out of control and extreme.

What’s being lost in this whole debate about Trump’s tweets on Cummings is that the congressman’s district is really suffering and leftists simply want to give those Baltimore citizens the cold shoulder while continuing to attack the president.
