As the left’s hysteria rages over President Donald Trump’s comments on the “very dangerous and filthy” city of Baltimore, a viral video has resurfaced of the city’s former mayor walking through that exact environment.
A video of the walk-through of Baltimore streets by former Democrat Mayor Catherine Pugh last year resurfaced even as the liberal media and politicians have accused the president of racism for calling out the city as a “rat and rodent infested mess.”
FLASHBACK: Fox 45 news report in September 2018 with Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh:
Mayor Pugh:
“What the hell? We should just take all this shit down.”

“What the hell? We should just take all this sh*t down … Whoa, you can smell the rats,” Pugh said in the video segment which aired on Fox 45 in September 2018.
“Whew, Jesus … Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals,” the former mayor, who resigned this year amid a scandal over the sale of children’s books, declared.
But Trump has been slammed as a racist for pointing out Baltimore’s plight under Democratic leadership following his criticism of Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) who has been very vocal in his remarks against the conditions at the southern U.S. border.
“Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border,” Trump originally tweeted about Cummings, “when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA.”
….As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place

The president’s comments followed Cummings showboating for far-left radicals by comparing migrant detention center facility conditions to “government-sponsored child abuse.”
“This is government-sponsored child abuse,” Cummings, the House Oversight Committee Chairman, said, blasting Border Patrol. The congressman even confronted acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan earlier this month in a condescending rebuke during a House hearing on the border crisis.
Trump slammed the Democrat for his vocal attacks on the administration and immigration officials while ignoring the failures in his own Maryland district.
“Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!” Trump asked.
But liberals have convenient short-term memory loss in all things related to Trump, quickly pouncing on the president’s factual observations as another example of his racism. CNN host Victor Blackwell actually cried on the air, pointing to a “pattern” in Trump’s criticisms of lawmakers who aren’t focused on doing their jobs.
There was no such criticism of 2020 contender Bernie Sanders back in 2016 when he compared Baltimore to a “Third World country” after a tour through one of the city’s neighborhoods.
And the former mayor of the city was just as revolted by the conditions, as the newly resurfaced video of Pugh proved.
The president has not taken the attacks without a fight, firing back at Democrats who seek only to play the race card and ignore facts, to the detriment of Baltimore’s residents. Trump blasted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in Sunday tweets, declaring that “the facts speak far louder than words.”
But the left is not interested in facts.
Trump: Baltimore is a violent place.
(Highest homicide rate in USA / @BaltimorePolice civilian employee assaulted in street/ proper sh*thole)

The president retweeted videos of Cummings’ district to drive his point home.
.@RepCummings — your district! https://t.co/JV4SF8ykCT

“There is nothing racist in stating plainly what most people already know, that Elijah Cummings has done a terrible job for the people of his district, and of Baltimore itself,” Trump tweeted. “Dems always play the race card when they are unable to win with facts. Shame!”
If racist Elijah Cummings would focus more of his energy on helping the good people of his district, and Baltimore itself, perhaps progress could be made in fixing the mess that he has helped to create over many years of incompetent leadership. His radical “oversight” is a joke!

The left hopes slamming Trump as a racist will takes the focus off of the deplorable conditions in Baltimore, which was ranked in the “top 10 on Orkin’s list of ‘Rattiest Cities.'”
“Aside from causing structural damage, rodents can carry hundreds of pathogens that can transmit various diseases and dangerous parasites,” Chelle Hartzer, an Orkin entomologist, said last year in a news release. “Additionally, they constantly leave behind droplets of urine as they travel each day. These droppings can contribute to asthma and allergic reactions, especially in children.”
Last year’s video of Pugh walking through the blight and disease infested areas has sparked renewed attention on social media where many are echoing Trump’s questions about what Cummings has actually been doing for his own district.
The mayor is saying this! Where was Cummings in all this? Oh yeah – tantruming over President Trump.

Obama gave @RepCummings ONE AND A HALF BILLION DOLLARS❗❗❗

Black mayor of Baltimore complained about rat smell and while spewing expletives as she toured this Baltimore neighborhood in disgust. This is what @realDonaldTrump was talking about and the CNN dude @VictorBlackwell choked on air and was silenced by the grief triggering tweet.?
