Just like every other liberal Democrat on television, Fox News host Chris Wallace, a registered Democrat, believes that President Donald Trump’s tweets about Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and his worn-down district were racist.
And no matter how many times acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney laid the facts out to Wallace on Sunday morning, the host simply refused to acknowledge the truth, which is that the factually accurate tweets posted by the president weren’t racist.

“Median household income in Cummings’ district is in the upper half nationally, and Columbia, Maryland, which is part of Cummings’ district, has been called the safest city in America,” Wallace said to Mulvaney. “So what is the president talking about?”
The president’s tweets were about Baltimore, not Columbia. Moreover, statistics pertaining to income level in no way shape or negate the fact that the city’s teeming with crime and filth or the fact that almost a quarter of the city’s “population lives below the poverty line.”
“What this is about is the president fighting back against what he saw as being illegitimate attacks about the border in the hearing this week,” Mulvaney replied.
He added, “If you go online, you can see the questioning that Elijah Cummings did of [U.S. Customs and Border Protection commissioner] Kevin McAleenan regarding the conditions on the border. Mr. Cummings said that children were sitting on their own faces. That’s not right. That’s not accurate.”
Frustrated by this disrespectful display, the president took to Twitter on Saturday to make the case that Cummings should spend less time haranguing America’s immigration officials and more time taking care of his crime-ridden, poverty stricken city.
In response, everybody from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the talking heads at CNN trotted out the race card by accusing Trump of being a racist who’d targeted Cummings because he is black.
Sadly, Mulvaney’s point flew right over Wallace’s head.
“Nobody objects to the president defending his border policies, but this seems to be the worst kind of racial stereotyping,” Wallace said. “Black congressman, majority-black district, ‘no human being would want to be there.’ Is he saying people who live in Baltimore are not human beings?”
No. The president was echoing the concerns of actual Baltimore citizens like the ones seen below who are tired of living in inhumane conditions because of the city’s Democrat leadership:

Mulvaney responded to Wallace’s remark by pointing out how the left often plays the race card against Trump and then contrasting that with the way the left rushed to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s defense after she was accused of racism by the “squad” a few weeks earlier.
“When the president attacks AOC plus three, he gets accused of being a racist,” Mulvaney said. “When Nancy Pelosi does it a few days later, the left and many members of the media come to her defense, saying that she couldn’t be racist, that she was simply attacking their ideas. The president’s doing the same. He’s attacking Mr. Cummings for saying things that aren’t true about the border.”
In his original tweets, the president argued that the conditions at the federal government’s illegal alien detention centers are better than the conditions in Baltimore. Yet instead of addressing the conditions there, Cummings remains hellbent on harassing America’s border officials and, of course, pursuing impeachment against the duly elected president.
“I was in Congress for six years,” Mulvaney noted. “If I had poverty like they have in Baltimore … and I spent all my time in Washington, D.C., chasing down this Mueller investigation, this bizarre impeachment crusade, I’d get fired. And I think the president is right to raise that. It has absolutely zero to do with race.”
Wallace disagreed.
“There is a clear pattern here, Mick,” he replied.
Technically, he’s right — there’s a pattern alright. There’s a habitual pattern of the Democrats in Congress and the Democrats in the media falsely accusing Trump of being a racist.
“The fact is that before his inauguration, the president tweeted about John Lewis, a black congressman, that he should spend time in his crime-infested district,” Wallace complained.
He added, “Then two weeks ago, he goes after these four members of the ‘squad’ — all women of color — and says they should go back to the crime-infested countries from which they come. Then he talks about Elijah Cummings, and he says his district is rat and rodent infested.”
Regarding Trump’s tweets about the “squad,” only one member — anti-Semitic Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar — is actually from another country. But that country, Somalia, is indeed infested with crime.
And as for Baltimore, the facts speak for themselves:
