In a huge victory for President Trump, on Friday the United States Supreme Court cleared the way for the use of Pentagon funds to build more than 100 miles of wall along the border with Mexico, and Democrats are falling all over themselves to declare the ruling to be wrong.
The President’s jubilant tweet expressed the relief that half the country is feeling today … “Wow! Big VICTORY on the Wall. The United States Supreme Court overturns lower court injunction, allows Southern Border Wall to proceed. Big WIN for Border Security and the Rule of Law!”

The court’s 5-4 decision was divided along ideological lines and means that construction can proceed on work that has been previously contracted along the border in California, Arizona, and New Mexico. The ruling allows $2.5 billion worth of previously identified funds in the Pentagon’s budget to be diverted to secure the border.
Democrats are livid and pumping out tweets in protest as they realize the new wall segments will provide tangible results he will be able to promote in his re-election campaign.
Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona insisted he will continue to fight “Trump’s efforts to destroy our environment and militarize border communities” and head-scratchingly called the border situation “Trump’s fake emergency” though the left has mostly abandoned that tact of late.
Trump’s fake emergency was nothing more than a pathetic ploy to circumvent Congress and build his monument to his racist policies. This fight is not over, and I will continue fighting Trump’s efforts to destroy our environment and militarize border communities. #NoBorderWall https://t.co/q1CLJKwXBO

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in her infinite wisdom judged the high court’s decision to be “flawed” and proclaimed it allows Trump to “steal military funds to spend on a wasteful, ineffective border wall rejected by Congress.”
This evening’s Supreme Court ruling allowing @realDonaldTrump to steal military funds to spend on a wasteful, ineffective border wall rejected by Congress is deeply flawed. Our Founders designed a democracy governed by the people — not a monarchy.

“This is a deeply regrettable and nonsensical decision and flies in the face of the will of Congress and the Congress’s exclusive power of the purse, which our founders established in the Constitution,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer tweeted.

Several candidates for the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination sought to garner attention with their self-righteous outrage.
“Trump’s political stunt will harm border communities & ignores the root causes of migration,” Julian Castro tweeted. “We deserve a president with a common sense & compassionate immigration plan,” he continued, implying that he was of course that guy.
Taking away money from the Defense Department to build a wall will not make us any safer.

Beto O’Rourke was quick to jump on the burning bandwagon, saying he doesn’t like walls and that he is “Deeply disappointed in the Supreme Court’s decision.”
Deeply disappointed in the Supreme Court’s decision. I’ve long opposed building walls, and while in Congress, I introduced language to prevent DOD funds from being used to plan or build a wall along our border. As President, I would do everything in my power to make that law.

“Congress did not appropriate these funds for Trump’s medieval vanity project,” Kamala Harris tweeted, in a particularly colorful display of personal disdain for the President.
Congress did not appropriate these funds for Trump’s medieval vanity project. Let’s be clear: Trump’s wall has never been about keeping the American people safe. https://t.co/tlZ9GRp7Wd

Cory Booker followed suit, calling the wall “a vanity project” and that he will “continue to fight back and join with those already challenging this wrong and misguided decision.”
Diverting military funds for a vanity project is exactly who Donald Trump is. I will continue to fight back and join with those already challenging this wrong and misguided decision. https://t.co/d9pEsmES7M

DNC Chair Tom Perez tweeted: “The Supreme Court’s decision is wrong, and Trump’s wall is a waste.”
Despite his promises, Trump is taking money from our military to fund his unnecessary and ineffective border wall. The Supreme Court’s decision is wrong, and Trump’s wall is a waste.

The twitterverse is adrenalized on both ends of the political spectrum. Sen. Lindsey Graham loved the ruling and declared that it’s been “A great week” for the President.
Big day as this Supreme Court decision will allow emergency funds to be spent on the much-needed Wall.
After this decision the Border Wall will get stronger and better.
A great week for President @realDonaldTrump!https://t.co/3b8r2KxQgD

Sarah Sanders sent out kudos to Trump for his perseverance, tweeting: “Nobody has fought harder to secure our border than President @realDonaldTrump and today he scores a massive victory at the Supreme Court.”

Tom Fitton, president of conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch issued a hopeful tweet, saying, “The judicial harassment of @RealDonaldTrump is out of control. Glad the Supreme Court is reasserting the rule of law…”
