Bette Midler proved long ago that she is an unhinged Trump hater, but her recent effort to denigrate President Trump resulted in the recording artist being slammed online for being a “racist.”
Count actress Kirstie Alley as one of those piling on, deservedly so.
An over-the-top tweet from Midler suggested that “African American men” seen in a photo at a Trump campaign rally were paid props, going so far as to describe them as “blackground.”
Alley, an early Trump supporter, though she later backed away from an endorsement, starred in the hit TV series “Cheers” and appeared on “Dancing With the Stars,” and she was so taken back by Midler’s “degrading” post that she tore into the entertainer in a tweet of her own.
And to be clear, Alley reminded her 1.2 million followers that this was an example of “pure and REAL racism.”
“This is one of the most racist, degrading “jokes” I’ve seen on Twitter & that’s saying a lot. We get it Bette, you hate Trump & that’s your right but to imply Black men have to be PAID to celebrate their OWN political views is pure and REAL racism. And “BLACKGROUND”?? WTF??!!

As we approach the 2020 election, Democrats are increasingly concerned about just how much support Trump may see from black voters, as a growing black conservative movement takes hold in America — thanks in large part to activist Candace Owens.
Some polling suggests the president could see unprecedented support, which would spell disaster for Democrats, who hang their hat on identity politics.
All of which explains why the left is desperate to tag Trump as a racist.
Midler is deranged in her hatred of Trump, frequently expressing her opinions of the president on Twitter.
Trump rebuked her last month, as he is known to do, after Midler shared a fake quote from him, calling her a “washed-up psycho.”
“Washed up psycho [Bette Midler] was forced to apologize for a statement she attributed to me that turned out to be totally fabricated by her in order to make ‘your great president’ look really bad. She got caught, just like the Fake News Media gets caught. A sick scammer!” the president tweeted.

As for her racist tweet, Midler not only let it stand — despite predictions she would delete it — with full confidence that the media in this country is firmly in her corner, she owned it.
As many as I feel like! Personally, I enjoy swearing. Why don’t you try it, you uptight…..ha! https://t.co/ipqdOT46xe

As if the backlash wasn’t severe already, the introduction of Alley’s condemnation took it to a whole other level.
Here’s a sampling of the responses from Twitter:
Bette doesn’t realize she’s everything she accuses others of being.

Thanks for the level headed response to Bette. She really has been posting some horrible things. I guess that’s what happens to people when they are full of hate – for anyone or anything? Either way it’s sad.

Thank you. Bette’s deranged hatred of Trump has revealed her true belief system.

I stood in line for five hours to get in a Trump rally and did not get in. There were people of all colors there, from all walks of life.

Thanks for calling her out on her racism, since you’re a voice that she will actually hear. I have seen the responses to her tweets but she just keeps getting worse..horrible, horrible woman. She is badly infected with #TrumpDerangementSyndrome…it is real!?

Thanks for saying something. Only a handful of celebrities will. So many celebrities make such disparaging remarks its totally ruined entertainment for me.
